Dj’s?

Laney, on September 5, 2019 at 7:28 PM Posted in California Planning 0 8
Hi everyone! First off congratulations to all of you! So quick question, how much is the norm to spend on a DJ, are there any DJ’s y’all recommend that are a good price in the Southern California region

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Stephanie!

The WeddingWire cost guide is a really helpful planning tool to help you find out the average amount spent in different location on wedding vendors, including Djs.

According to the tool, in Los Angeles, most couples spend between $1,000 - $1,600 on a wedding DJ. The average cost is $1,200. You can change the location on the guide to get more accurate averages for where you are planning Smiley smile

Another super handy WeddingWire tool is the local vendor directory. Have you checked it out yet? There are a ton of Djs listed there - Los Angeles Wedding DJs.Along with changing the location on the page, you can filter by price and music genres Smiley smile

I hope both of these help you in your search!

We went with DJ LX Lighting and Sound for our wedding next year, he did a few parties we went to and he is awesome. He is doing our ceremony music, cocktail hour and reception from 7-1am for 1,500. You can look him up on FB!

Highly recommend Andy Nation in Orange County (AndyNation.com). He was awesome; super easy to work with and just the nicest guy. He kept the dance floor packed all night. I think we paid $1300 for about 7 hours (not including his set up and take down).

I’m in SF Bay Area and DJs average between $1000 - $2000, but it is definitely doable to find DJs between $500 - $1000, especially if you’re not looking for anything too fancy

We are going with Sound Prodigy, and made sure to book the owner Pat. The have offices in El Cajon and Santa Ana. I had an injury and couldn’t make it to their office, so he met me at a coffee shop near my house since he had a wedding near the area. I don’t put a lot of stock into Yelp reviews exactly-if they have only ten reviews and they’re all 5 stars you just never know. But he has sooo many reviews that mention how great he is with getting the crowd moving and keeping the flow going. He is an emcee, a host, a man who will keep your reception on track and make sure your key people are in the room when it’s time for the dance or the cake cutting. He is giving is a great deal so if you contact him look at the page on wedding wire for a discount. I didn’t actually click that link before hand but he still had e me the deal.

I'm getting married in Sonoma. Our DJ from SF was $1650. That was pretty reasonable for me! Smiley laugh
