DJ for small wedding?

Hi all! So my wedding is going to be 35 people max maybe 40. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to have a DJ. It is my FH friends dad who would be doing it. Not much of my family are dancers and neither is FH. He will do our first dance but has no interest beyond that. Is it worth it?

I don't think its worth it. Another board had posts for the costs and most were well above 1k. I don't know if maybe you can get a deal for a lot cheaper. I am having a small wedding and no DJ. I don't like to dance anyway though and out of my guests most don't dance either.

It all depends on your budget though.

I think if you are worried about it cost wise, maybe making a playlist or streaming music might be better since your group isn't huge on dancing anyways. Just don't wait until the last minute to start it! That would be super stressful.

ETA: Now that I'm thinking about it I probably had about that many people or less when we got to the real dancing part of the reception. I was really glad I got a DJ even though there wasn't a ton of people.

Becky. No. It's NOT. A must. If you want a banging party and lots of dancing then yes. But it's not necessary of you aren't having/wanting a dance party type of reception.
