All I did was take the picture out of the frame, traced pre-printed letters & hand painted the laurel. I still need to clean up the edges with a q-tip & some nail polish remover. Total cost: no more than $1. (For the paint & paint brush. The frame was one we already had). Guests will...
All I did was take the picture out of the frame, traced pre-printed letters & hand painted the laurel. I still need to clean up the edges with a q-tip & some nail polish remover. Total cost: no more than $1. (For the paint & paint brush. The frame was one we already had). Guests will sign this with a gold sharpie & I will clear coat or add another layer of glass to preserve the sharpie. We will lay a chain of greenery and flowers across the top and lean it on an easel at the entrance. Hope this inspires someone!

I am turning windows (one picture is the window I got for $5 and the other is inspo) into our seating chart and I’ve been trying to figure out ways to write on the glass without it looking crappy! Your tracing idea is just what I needed!!! I’ll show you how this turns out! What kind of paint did you use to trace the letters?

I just used acrylic paint. It works great & scratches off easily if you mess up. Dried really fast, too.

How it looks so far! I’m not going to add the names of people at the tables until all the RSVPs are finalized and I have a solid seating chart

It was a frame from a painting we already had - not sure where it was from originally.

We have been having issues finding what I want a reasonable price! I love this idea because I want to do something I can hang up. There’s so many estate sales around us that I could probably find a decent frame for like 10$ and I have about 75-80 guests. I have a friend who is good at creative stuff. I’m sure she can trace the wording and paint it. So here’s my question! What did you use to trace the letters and designs? I feel like between paint and brush and tracing and cleaning it up I would spend maybe 20$ compared to about 50-60$ for what I want!

Danielle, I printed out the letters on paper, then taped them where I wanted them. I traced them on the other side with acrylic paint & a paint brush. I just got around to cleaning it up the other day - I used nail polish remover and a q-tip. The paint scratches off easily too so you could seriously use your fingernails.
