So the venue mentioned to me that they do have a tip jar, nothing fancy, for the bar if guests wish to leave a "thank you" for the bar tender. We are covering the costs for our consumption bar, But they said we can also bring our own if there's something specific we wanted or something to match our decor.

This doesn't have to do with our decorations lol but I felt crafty and decided to make them a jar to keep for future functions after mine and as a thank you.

The jar is from Target $2.99, the glitter tulle was a banner (string from the banner is tied around the bottom) which I thought cost $1 which is why I grabbed it since it was in that section at Target and didn't realize til after it was $3! Lol but I don't regret getting it after seeing the outcome. I used hot glue to stick them on and my HP Sprocket Printer to create the sign on it.

I think it's cute. Honestly if someone is pitching a fit over a tip jar they need to order a stronger drink 🙄
Where I am venues will have their own tip jars out all night, I think this is much more sightly than a coffee jar with a sharpied paper saying "TIP$" on the bar all night. Maybe you can even ask the bar if they want to keep it for future weddings.
Some people like to tip the bar extra at the end of the night even if the they know the bar is paid for, servers are not servants and most people realize a wedding is often a weekend night away from family/friends and want to tip for being there for their event. It's not tacky where I live, it's just normal.

Don’t post something online if you don’t want to be given opinions. It IS tacky, some groups are just able to overlook how cheap it is.

Also I want to apologise for the witch Hunt here. If you have anything less than a full open bar and an all night rager people come out of the woodwork to say nasty comments about your hosting and wedding quality. It's toxic and sad people have nothing better to do, try real hard not to let people who aren't even going to your wedding rain on your parade.

Better someone give it to you straight than people think it at the wedding.

No there's a difference between giving it straight and rude. You are rude. Get a life and go pee in someone else's Cheerios.

Thankfully I have very loving and non judgemental guests who have attended other family weddings with tip jars and there's never been an issue.

Thank you love! No need to apologise for prudes, some people are drowning in their own misery and like to bring others down when they aren't happy with themselves. Mysery loves company! Glad I don't have people like that attending our wedding. ☺️

Right? You are very welcome. I’m here to lift others up. Some people live in a perfect world with an unlimited supply of money to throw around. Every situation is different. Every wedding. There are NO rules when it comes to weddings these days. You obviously know your family & friends better than anyone. I hope you have a super blessed wedding & a long happy marriage! 💖🎉

Same. I just came back to be nice.
Dang. I'm so sorry about all of this. You made a very nice gesture and it's horrifying how terrible people are being.

Awww thank you! I appreciate it. It's ok, there's always a few who love a debate when it wasn't called for. I'm just glad I don't have to worry about having someone attend my wedding and judge me for a freaking jar! Lol would hate to be their friends and have them be part of a big event in my life to be ridiculed.
