DIY Table Numbers

Miami2NorthernVA, on January 21, 2017 at 10:53 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 22

I was shocked when I started looking at wood table numbers and the cost. I found wood table numbers (1-20) on ebay for $11.95. I used rustoleum rose gold and glitter spray paint to paint them. I might go over them with one more coat of glitter spray paint. The total cost was around $22 ($27 if I do the additional coat of glitter paint).

Side note: My FH says I cant call this DIY because I did not carve the wood numbers myself lol

Definitely a DIY, to buy those already glittery is like $60!

Table numbers are so expensive - those look great - and at a good price!

I always wonder how much I have to do of something to call it DIY too...

Those look amazing! I love metallic paints. I painted some of our patio furniture with copper paint and love it! It's totally DIY.

@MrsFH when we first bought our house our fireplace cover was a 90's gold that had a terrible finish. I spray painted it with rustoleum oil rubbed bronze and it looks so much more modern.

Oh man, I wish I saw this post sooner! I just bought unfinished wood table numbers on Etsy for $45! I'm going to do royal blue glitter with mini silver bows underneath. Mine are attached to a stick to pop into the flower centerpieces. You got a great deal!

Thanks @FutureMrsV. I looked on etsy first but couldn't believe the cost when shipping was factored in. I thought about using paper numbers but figured I would check ebay first. I also got a great deal on a Mr & Mrs sign for our table, $4!

This is something similar to the Mr & Mrs one I purchased http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chic-Mr-Mrs-Wedding-Letters-White-Wooden-Mr-and-Mrs-Table-Sign-Decoration-/191921088631?var=&hash=item2caf636877:m:mDAxJ4Us7fB7axLASHkTpZg

@Nicole2017 Nice! I made a mistake and spray painted them with the glitter first, which didn't cover all the wood (its meant to be sprayed after you already painted, didn't know that), so I went back and painted it rose gold. Now some of the glitter doesn't show so I might be going over them again. Had I not made this mistake the paint would have been $5-6 and one can does the job. Learn from my mistakes if you are planning something similar.

Noted, thanks! I'm sure if you go over them again that'll solve the problem. Good luck!

These look awesome! I was hesitant about doing these simply because I was trying to figure out what I would do with them after the wedding lol!!

That's awesome! They look great! Does the glitter do a good job staying? One of my friends put loose glitter on hers and it was a horrible mess...I'd love to have glitter numbers but I've been nervous because of her experience.

@Forever his Wonder Woman is it weird that I already thought about using them for birthday photos with my future children lol

@Sarah I used Rustoleum glitter spray paint that I bought from HomeDepot. It stays on. Of course a little does come off if you touch it, but if this was really a concern you could spray top coat over it. I have that and use it on my pumpkin every halloween to preserve it a little longer.
