I honestly wasn’t going to do a makeup “trial” because I know how to do my makeup, thank you very much 😂 I don’t wear makeup daily. In fact FH doesn’t like it when I do but has conceded that certain occasions call for it. The church we attend isn’t legalistic about makeup but FH has historically attended churches of the same denomination that don’t allow makeup. So he didn’t like how I was originally going to do it so I told him I’d do a trial run today as we were dressing up tonight. First two is fresh, second set is about 5 hours later after eating and a lot of walking.


For those ladies that don’t regularly wear makeup just know you can always go lighter or not at all if that’s what you’re most comfortable with. Even the Duchess of Cambridge did her own makeup on her wedding day 😉 Please ignore the fact that I started sweating like a pig right after I applied it 😑

    Looks good! Heck of a lot better than I can do. I’m not capable of makeup at all, can’t even do a straight line with eyeliner. I wear chapstick most days since I work in a kitchen. I love your lip color the most!

    Thank you! I used to be a theater kid so heavy sided makeup was a thing for me for a while. Now I sit behind a computer and don’t see anyone so what’s the point, ha.

    Love it!!! What products do you use? I'm doing my own make up as well. I don't wear a lot and In just afraid that having someone else do it it would be over done. I'm just having a hard time finding good stuff that last especially lip color.

    Believe it or not, I use wet and wild eye shadow, mega volume mascara, and mega last eye liner. Then Cover Girl Outlast lipstick and Cover Girl BB cream for concealer. I tell you I woke up Sunday morning, took a shower, rubbed my lips reeeeaaaallllly good before church and that lipstick was still sticking to me.

    Ohhh ty!!! I use the CG BB cream in the summer because my skin is SUPER oily. I first tried it when we went to Vegas a few years ago and fell in love with it. I will have to try the lipstick, I love it when people tell me they use brands that won't kill the wallet. I've looked at a few things at Ulta but can't bring myself to spend that much on eyeshadows and things like that. I have gotten the Urban Decay setting spray, but even that was on sale.

    Oh yeah I've been using CG BB cream forever. I hate the matte look from powder all together so the cream has been my go-to. I also have oily skin so I try not to put much on it. I think I have the lipstick in like three colors and I've been very happy with it. I've never been able to justify buying anything from Ulta. I know they have "good" makeup but I use it so rarely I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on makeup.

    Same here! My setting spray is from Ulta and its formulated for oily skin so I try to catch that on sale, but I still have the same spray bottle I got almost 2 years ago. I did the whole ipsy bags for awhile but even though you customize what you want/like itbwas still hit or miss.

    I thought about ipsy bags but never did them. You know I'm the same way about my shampoo. I love to use the salon brands but always do it when there's a sale going on.

    If you're really into make-up and plan on buying the product ipsy sends, they are great. But, for me I just can't bring myself to spend $50 on some foundation that I may wear 20 times a year.
