diy Flower bouquet??

Jacqulyn, on May 29, 2020 at 8:06 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 18
Has anyone made their own bouquet?? I’m back and forth on whether to go to a florist, or to just go to hobby lobby and make my own. I would like it as a keepsake. But then there’s the question on the cake. Should I give my baker real or fake flowers? Or should I make my own bouquet and then find the same flowers at the florist to use on the cake? Also, how much were your bouquets? Decisions, decisions!

This is mine! Got two $5 rose bouquets from Walmart. My husband got twine from work (he builds elevators). And he used a rubberband to hold it altogether! Super cheap and simple.

I went to michaels and found some bouquets there. I basically put together a few of them to make a larger one for myself

Diy is so fun. ❤️ Especially right now when a lot of us are working from home. I work in college athletics and we’ve been working from home since March 12 and expected to until August. In my free time I’ve played around with making my bouquet. This is my most recent. Im thinking of trying again and making another one.

I would give fake to your bakery as fresh flowers on cake can be dangerous

I made mine, it’s A LOT more work than expected, but definitely fun to learn about and play around with! I used a mixture of flowers and greenery from michaels, Lings moment, and Afloral. I was able to make my bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, and 8 centerpieces for around $100. I ordered more flowers today for the ceremony arch and sweetheart table backdrop. All together it ended up being about $130 which is less than the estimate I received from a florist for one bridal bouquet and I got SO much more out of my money this way.

I’m still undecided on what to do for the cake, but I’m leaning towards using leftover faux flowers that way I know it’ll all match. diy Flower bouquet?? 6

I wanted a keepsake too so bought bouquets from an online shop which I love, but are plans have changed and I need a summery bouquet. Rather than spending a lot I DIYed one. I'll use the other bouquets for our fall wedding next year.

I am making our flowers from colored crepe paper and pages of books we love (namely Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings). Ive been working on it over the past year and when my MoH visits in July we're going to assemble everything. My brother is getting married 4 months after me, and his fiance asked if they could use the colored flowers since they chose the same colors. So, family flowers. ☺️ I just finished the B for my new last name and I'm so happy with how it turned out!

I bought a modified version of this on Etsy and the seller was great to work with! I love the idea of DIY, but I don't think I'm creative enough to make my dreams a reality. Definitely recommend it, especially since you can customize:

I dyed them myself! They’re sola wood flowers and I used their dye too but you can use just acrylic paint and water too. I used mixes of pink lemonade, rosewood and ivory from the sola site for the rose colored ones then butterscotch for the orangeish.
