I ended up ordering buckets of flowers from a woman about two hours south of us in New Hampshire. For $300 we got SO many flowers. Buckets and buckets worth. Enough to do my bouquet and two bridesmaid bouquets, 7 boutonnieres, 3 corsages, 24 table Mason jars, arbor flowers, more flowers for the ceremony and we ended up having so many flowers left after everything was said and done that we left them at the farm so they could incorporate them into their charity bouquets that they make every week.
Since I didn't have floral experience or any of the tools, ribbons etc, I had found a local farm in Vermont that offered pick your own flowers and also would help bridal parties put arrangements together. Our wedding was in October so they couldn't guarantee they would have pick your own which is why I opted to get flowers elsewhere, but I had asked them if we could still come in and do the arrangements. The staff there put together our bouquets, bouts and corsages and myself, my MOH and bridesmaid put together all the table arrangements. It was the perfect mix of DIY and professional help and we couldn't have been happier with how things turned out.
For all floral, we ended up spending around $200 to the farm in Vermont which included storage of the flowers, delivery the morning of, the help putting together, all the supplies we needed etc. So about $500 for all our flower needs.
We went Friday morning before our Saturday wedding and just had the best time. Flowers, good music and lots of laughs and we ended up making the most beautiful arrangements and everyone loved the personal touch.
I'll share pictures below, but just a word of advice to go with your gut and enjoy yourself! If you really want to have a hand in your floral arrangements like I did, think outside the box and see what you can find!
