diy clear invitations

Stephanie, on November 10, 2019 at 4:44 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 9
Hi everyone! Currently deciding on what invitation we should choose from and just was debating on: acrylic wedding invitations or the clear flexible invitations?

Some places want to charge a lot for them but was wondering if anyone may know a way to DIY them?

Any information is helpful! Also attacked a video of the different styles.

    Hey there, Stephanie!

Clear invitation are so slick, I really like them! How many would you need to make?

Did you check out YouTube for any DIY guides? Someone may have uploaded one there!

Pinterest would also be a great place to check. People typically share links out to their website, blogs, etc. with how-to guides!

We're doing acrylic invitations but we're not doing them ourselves. I've read it can be really hard. I ordered a sample of two from sellers on Etsy and will be making a decision this week. You can definitely find some that are cost-effective on Etsy, and I read here where a bride used Ali Express and her invitations came out beautifully and were significantly less. Either way, I'm excited about find them. I think they will be a great keepsake for many of our guest guests and they match our decor (we're doing acrylic chairs). 😊

As a designer that's been working in print for 10 years I wouldn't recommend DIYing clear invites. Your standard home printer can melt the plastic. The ink will also wipe right off since it needs a special coating only printers can do.

If you want a similar DIY solution you can print at home, I'd recommend vellum. It isn't clear, but it is transparent enough that you can see any paper you put behind it (like a cool pattern). It looks really classy and makes it special.

If you still want to purchase clear I'd recommend Etsy to see if they have vendors. Otherwise the only website I could easily find that did clear printing was this:

    Hi!
They definitely are, but we’re hoping to buy/make 200 invitations if possible. I’ve looked on YouTube and I haven’t been able to find any videos for some reason.

Sounds beautiful! That’s what I’ve been hearing, but every time I look on Etsy they’re a bit pricey. I might have to take a look there! Is there any vendors you’d recommend on Etsy? 😁

That’s what I’ve been reading and some say special laser printers to help make them. I’ve only read a little on vellum but would be interested in learning more about it! And thank you for the recommendation!!

No problem! I think vellum would be a great option if you want to do it yourself, otherwise that Printpapa was the cheapest I've seen Smiley smile

One thing I will say about regular clear invites is that no one takes into account fingerprints. They look great in photos, but as soon as someone touches the invite it's going to be fingerprint-city

We may buy from this person, which includes the full suite so a little more expensive ( but when you add up how much it would cost for RSVPs and details cards it's about average):

Here are two other vendors that I spoke with who's prices were a bit cheaper and they were very responsive:

diy clear invitations 1 I created mine using Adobe spark on my iPhone. I contacted 2 AliExpress invitation sellers and emailed my pdf to compare ordering 10 Each seller. Both looked like great quality. The photo looks just like the Thick printed out acrylic invite. Turnaround time was less than a month.
