My Fiance's parents are divorced and his mother is paying for the rehearsal dinner as our wedding gift. She texted me last night, don't tell my fiance but I do not want to invite his dad or his girlfriend to the rehearsal dinner.

I don't know how to respond to this, I don't feel it is right not to tell my Fiance and I know she is paying for the dinner but she is inviting all other family, including my Fiance's sister and her family and all out of town guests.

What should I tell her, if anything?

Thank you

First I'd tell her that I don't keep secrets from my fiancé. Then I'd tell my fiancé and make sure that I'm on the same page with him. It's not okay to exclude some of the parents in this way, and if she insists on being so petty and immature I would thank her for her generous offer to host the rehearsal dinner but say you have to decline her offer under her conditions and that you and your FI will be hosting instead.
