Sorry if this is a silly question. Me and FH were going to use nicer looking plastic wine glasses for the wedding since our venue and caterer don't supply glasses. Was wondering if this is 1) tacky . Me and FH were going to use nicer looking plastic wine glasses for the wedding since our venue and caterer don't supply glasses. Was wondering if this is 1) tacky . And 2) how this logistically should be placed, at the tables or at the bar? Because I feel people wouldn't want to keep carrying their glass back and forth right?

Maybe this is an obvious answer but we can't figure out what we want to do.

Thanks guys

@Zulander - I was thinking about those ones from Amazon too! Curious if anyone has tried them.

Rent real glasss. By the time you buy all those disposables, it won't wave you any money.

Okay, since you asked, I'll be honest. Plastic is plastic, and If I attend a wedding and am handed a plastic cup or faux wine glass, the first thing that's going through my mind is "inexpensive". If that offends you, I apologize. However, people think what they think, often immediately.

If your bar is limited to wine (and beer) just leave them at the bar. You don't want plastic on a beautifully set table featuring a tablecloth, china, water glasses, silverware, linen napkins, a centerpiece, and possibly, candles. And you're right...people will not keep carrying a glass -- plastic or glass -- back to the bar. They'll expect a fresh glass with every drink. That's why I'd rent the real deal.

Great recommendation! I was getting nervous about not being able to use glass in my venue, especially since I'm using china. All other plastic glasses I've seen look flimsy and tacky, but these look like great quality! Thanks tons 💕

Generally at the bar, don't they give you a new glass each time you get a drink? Because that's that how plates are distributed for food safety regulations according to the health department. So that could be a ton of glasses that you would have to take home and wash before you sell them online or find a home for them. Even with plastic (which there is nothing wrong with unless you are having a *super* formal wedding) you would have to get a ton of them. See what Costco/Sam's Club has in stock.

Someone may have already mentioned this, but to add to the conversation:
IS IT TACKY TO HAVE NICE PLASTIC PLATES & SILVERWARE but still use REGULAR GLASSWARE (like the ones mentioned from ikea)??
My caterer says this is tacky, but she also wants to charge way too much to rent china.
    Planning 2 weddings & need help! :-)
