Disney World vs. Hawaii

My FT thought of Disney World for a honeymoon, and that sounds great to me. We got really excited and started figuring out how much it would cost. And today he said maybe we could go to Hawaii. The Hawaii deal is nearly all-inclusive, with breakfast and dinner every day. We'd be responsible for lunches and anything we wanted to do on the free days that don't have included activities.

I don't know which one I'd prefer. I've been wanting to go to Hawaii for a long time, partly because it's one of the two states I have left to visit. But Disney sounds so fun!

Here's a link to the Hawaii package: http://www.hawaii-all-inclusive.net

The Disney honeymoon would include 5 nights at the All Star Music Resort, 5-day tickets with the Park Hopper and Water Parks add-ons, the Quick Service dining plan, and the Memory Maker add-on.

Pros? Cons? What's your experience/opinion when comparing the two?

We are going to Disney's resort in Oahu. So best of both worlds?

If you pick Disney, you don't have to make it stressful or fill every minute with rides and entertainment. They do have a lot of adult things to do. You can pick and choose what you want to do. If you love it, go for it.

Hawaii is cool also. Maybe look into Aulani if you're torn between Hawaii and Disney.

Personally, my FH and I are planning on going to WDW. We've both been before a few times, but it's something we really want to experience together.

My FH and I are planning a Disney honemoon. Partly because I've never been and I'm a huge Disney geek and also because we're secretly children at heart. Hawaii just isn't really our style so I guess if I were I'm your shoes, I'd figure out what was more you and your FH's style.

They both sound super nice BUT if I were to choose I would go with Hawaii. Do you really wanna be around a whole bunch of screaming and whiney kids, stuck in lines that are an hour long for literally a 2 minute ride?! There's nothing romantic or honeymooney about that to me. I'm sorry don't wanna seem like a Debbie downer BUT we just took our kids to Disney in April and while it is the happiest place on earth you could also lose your freaking mind there. Not sure if you have kids or not but you could always plan a Disney trip as a family. Smiley smile

Disney has lots of stuff outside the park and in the resorts that is relaxing and fun for adults. But with kids it's a whole different story (trust me I grew up with 5 siblings and we went .

DH and I did a Disney honeymoon and it was wonderful! We made sure to have a good balance of park time and relaxation.

Hawaii-- you will spend a lot more time relaxing in Hawaii. Of course, I'm biased. I did my HM in Hawaii, years ago, in a wonderful all-inclusive that has since been wiped out by a tsunami.

Of course, if you're cringing inside every time you read 'relax' cause to you it means 'bored', go to Disneyland. Smiley sexy And, one point in Disney's favor-- you can still go to the beach, if you want.

I've bem in Disney World and I'm in Hawaii now. If you want to have fun, waking and know that you have to go to the park and be in line for your honeymoon go to Disney. But if you would like to have some quiet time, relax and enjoy your new married status, come to Hawaii. I've been once in Kauai and Norhshore and loved, beautiful beaches. I'm in Maui and it's ok. So, for me no way I'm going to Disney for honeymoon.

I would vote for Hawaii. While Disney is fun, it's A LOT of running around and not very relaxing at all. We just got back from Disney not long ago and I needed a vacation from my vacation. You'll also have a chance to visit Disney if/when you have children. Hawaii might be a once in a lifetime trip. Smiley smile.

Both sound like fun but I'd go with Hawaii. Disney feels like something you can go to anytime.

We're going to Disney World for our honeymoon... I can't wait! Hawaii sounds awesome too, we're just theme park people so that was the best idea for us.

The flight to Hawaii will be much longer for you, but still, DO HAWAII! We got engaged in Maui last year and it the most magical place. Every once in a while we just look at each other and say, "Can we go back to Hawaii?" Even over traveling anywhere else. We just loved it so much! What time of year are you considering going?

We are going to Hawai'i the thing I don't like about the all inclusive packages is that your days are already planned.

We are doing 4 days on the Big Island and 4 days in Oahu.
