Disney World Honeymoon

Kattie, on April 15, 2020 at 1:27 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 7

Anyone having a Disney World honeymoon? How are you feeling about it? Nervous? Concerned? The unknown sucks. We're supposed to be there in October. The talks of partial openings makes me feel so, so. I'll be glad we'll experience the magic but hoping we don't loose a lot of it.

Hi! We were going to be there in May, but that’s not happening. WDW let us rebook in September, which is our usual annual trip anyways, with free dining plan. We are still getting married in Oct. Plus, I’m expected to start school this August. I know it’s all jacked up, but that’s how it could all fit. We are not too worried about the September trip though. To look on the positive, it might take awhile for people to travel again and to want spend some time around crowds, so you may get to do more things i.e. less wait times on rides, get your fast passes.

All very true! Plus people will want their kids to be in school after missing so much time! Someday we'll look back at the memories and the feelings will just be joy because we made it through.

We went in January, and it was amazing!

I will say this: no matter what happens, you know Disney will do everything they can to make your trip wonderful. They are very, very good at that.

DH has been watching some vlogs, and there's speculation that Disney will install a lot of hand-washing stations, control crowds, and generally use Disney imagineering to cope with this "new normal".

Just keep communication with them open (I know, the one thing they aren't good at), and be aware you might need to move things around.

I'm really hoping they do a great job about it. We went April 2018, which was my first time and when we got engaged. The honeymoon is our gift from my future in laws. My FMIL is really awesome about being on top of things so I'm sure everything will be fine.

We were suppose to be getting married in 2 days and we were going to Disney end of May because I am a teacher. We have now postponed the wedding to June 20th and honeymoon June 23-29, but who knows if any of that will actually happen.

Because we had to reschedule, we did qualify for the free dining offer they were offering to March-May guests who rescheduled between June 1st and September 30th. We paid the fee to upgrade to the Disney dining plan and were able to upgrade our room as well. I just hope it happens, but I've learned not to look forward to anything these days 😭

    Hi Kattie,

What a thoughtful gift from your future in-laws! If I were you, I'd kindly ask my future MIL to stay on top of your trip, so you can focus on your wedding plans.

I agree with PP. The people at Disney are innovators. I'm confident that they are working on making the necessary improvements to the parks as I type, so they'll be ready to reopen when it's safe to do so.
