Disney wedding

Mariah, on July 7, 2019 at 6:06 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 16
Has anyone had a Disney wedding on a budget? I just want my ceremony at disney with 30 to 50 people. I'll do my reception at home. Anyone done this?

Disney weddings are pricey. They start at $12,000, not including tax, gratuity or additional fees, for 18 guests. And that's only if you have your wedding Monday through Thursday, and it's higher "in certain seasons and on holidays." More guests, or anything other than the lowest package, will be even more. https://www.disneyweddings.com/florida/pricing/

The link is to the Florida one, but I suspect it's not that different at any Disney resort.

I went to a Disney wedding & they are pricey. You must use their vendors - including their florist, officiants, H&MU, etc.

I know you have to use all their vendors, I live in Louisiana so it would be easier for me to use their florist, officiant, and photographer for sure. It Will be on a Thursday if I go that route. I know the package starting price. I priced a wedding a few years ago through them just out of curiosity & it priced at like $12,500. I signed up to get more info now that I'm engaged, but just wanted to see if anyone had first hand experience with them.

Good luck with getting anything for under 12000. ☹️Disney is soooo pricy for everything wedding related. It would probably be more budget friendly to do a Disney theme at home. You would have more options to do what you wanted not what Disney provides.

If you live in Louisiana you would have 30 to 50 people travel to Disney (Florida I assume?) for your ceremony but not host them there? Anybody invited to your ceremony needs to be hosted immediately afterwards to thank them.

I plan on doing dinner witheveryone that comes to the ceremony or a dessert party. The reception at home will be for friends and the rest of the family to come be part of our first dances, cake, and celebration. Most likely will be closer to 20 people. Parents, grandparents, & siblings and they will be hosted

Oh good, glad to hear! That's technically a reception, since you're receiving your ceremony guests and providing them with appropriate refreshments.

We got engaged in Disney World, so naturally I looked into it, but it was absolutely insane the amount they were charging for the small amount of people that could attend. We decided to do a local wedding with a bunch of Disney themed items instead.

Hi former special events Disney worker! I worked at Weddings for a while! (a long time ago around 2011 so dont quote me on this, and things may have changed, I did go through a refresher on the website and it looks pretty familiar to what Im use to)

Disney weddings are very expensive. That being said, the quality is top notch because it is Disney. Its kinda like piecing together a puzzle based on what you're interested in, and the different options you pick will impact the price. You do get a wedding planner, so as long as you go into it saying "this is what Im looking to spend" usually they can work with you to figure out what is best for you or they will be completely honest and say its not possible in that price range.

If you just want a ceremony, they do have very small packages that start less than $5,000 (less than 10 people). These don't include all the bells and whistles and do not include food, but usually they include cake and toasting champagne. The Escape collection may be something you're interested in. It was pretty popular for Disney on a budget, people would host the ceremony on property and then a reception at a nice restaurant in Orlando. I believe you use to be able to add small plates to Escape, but Im not sure if that still the case.

I read somewhere on a blog that you can do a small "private party" as well and just not do a reception and save. Is that true? I know it will be amazing. A Disney ceremony has always been my dream, I'm in love with Disney magic. I know it is worth the cost, but I'd like to,stay under $5k to $10k for that part & save the rest for,my big party at home a few weeks later. I know the food be included, i don't even need a cake there 💁

Yeah you can always set up a private event at a Disney property that's not officially a "Wedding", we had people hosting family reunions or corporate events and I could see how you could easily have a small ceremony during that time. You can also have a small ceremony on property not hosted by Disney, which I know they usually frown upon but if you're not bothering anyone and keeping it very casual and lowkey with a small intimate group no one will usually say anything.

If you're looking for $5k-10k range check out the Escape collection. Its 20 people and starts at $7k. Doesn't come with food, but does have the cake and toast. That may even be something you could talk to them about excluding to save on costs. It does include a photographer and transportation to your venue, and there's more venue options to pick from than the smaller collection.

I had a great experience when inquiring on my Disney wedding! Ours is in three months, only 18 people and we added a reception dinner after! Hopefully you had a great experience as the Disney staff is amazing! They do everything for you! It has taken soooooo much stress off of my planning!

I actually chose to go with the Swan and Dolphin resort to be able to have all of our close family there. It's through Just Marry, but my coordinator is amazing and I dont have to worry about anything

Yeah, it is at Disney still, just not through them since the swan and dolphin isn't owned by them. Then my reception back home is Disney themed
