Yes, I think people who care about you would come no matter what time it is.. even if it is at 4 pm on a Wednesday! (Maybe an exaggeration).. and maybe afternoon can save you money?!?!

What about August? If you really want the 9/10/11 date, you're going to have to go elsewhere. That's becoming a very popular date.

Oh yea girly people will come! We are attending a Sunday morning wedding at 11am... on a sunday. and we have to commute 2 hours home after... but they are our friends so we are willing. As they would be willing if the tables were turned. :o)

I don't think attendance at a Saturday afternoon wedding will be affected. If anything they will like being able to do what they want with their evening. The only problem I see with a 10am or 11am wedding is getting ready----- what time would you need to wake up for hair/makeup....and when will you do pictures?

Have you considered changing the month to August or October? Maybe they have an evening available in those months.

I felt like crying when she sent me the email that she had confirm a football game on my day (which was available)... =( we have the other venue 9/10/11 already reserved but FS wants that one. I told him the only way you can get that venue is to have a lunch instead of dinner. ( remind you the ceremony would be outside) Heat, hes a heat freak lol

To me, a lunch ceremony would suck! You have alot to do that day prior to the ceremony, and it would be very hectic with less time to do it.

Keep your original venue and proceed as planned.

To me, it seems that changing to this venue for an afternoon wedding would be a down-grade. Why exactly does he want to change the venue? Is it more cost effective? Our wedding is going to be on a Friday, and I'm just fine with that. Maybe that could be your compromise? I don't know, I just feel like an afternoon wedding celebration seems like rushing to get the party over. I'd want mine to go late until the evening, to be the main event, you know?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Put your foot down! How many people are really going to be outside taking pictures?! WHO CARES?! You'll have your nice pictures with the bridal party, etc. Your party is going to be INSIDE. My suggestion is to help your honey wake up and smell the roses. I think his reasoning is RIDICULOUS!

We got married at 2:00 pm on a Saturday in a garden with the reception immediately after inside. Worked fine for us and our guests.

FH and I are doing a Saturday afternoon wedding. The ceremony actually starts at 11:30am and the reception is from 12-4. It's what we could afford. For the venue we selected if we want an evening wedding we have to have a minimum of 100-150 people I think or at least pay for that amount of people. Our wedding is small and only 50-60 people and already more out of towners than I would have thought have RSVPed. So we're pretty much going to hit our max on our number of guests we can afford judging from the RSVPs I've received so far. FH and I aren't really party people so I am fine with an afternoon wedding and then having the evening to probably have dinner with out of town family etc. Having it so early means we will have to start getting ready at 8am but you got to make some sacrifices for the day of your dreams I suppose. ;-)

Our wedding is on a Friday and I couldn't be happier. We are saving over 10k just because it's a Friday night and we are finding that most vendors are giving us a break because it's a Fridayl. I would totally do it on 9/9/11. It might be hard for some of your guests to get off work in time but if they have enough notice and they want to attend, they will find a way.

Regarding having it in October: I don't think it's a big deal to get married around other people's birthdays-- But I probably only feel that way because we don't celebrate anything but the big birthdays. We send cards and call one another instead. Also--- once the wedding is over, your anniversary isn't going to be a huge party that everyone needs to attend so it won't likely interfere much with all the bdays you already have that month.
