Who's getting waxed for the big day??

Meee5584, on April 15, 2014 at 12:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 28

So, I just made an appointment to get my legs waxed and a Brazilian!! I have never been waxed before so I'm scared!

I'm having a beach wedding, though, so I don't want to have to mess with shaving.

Anyone else??

Definitely getting waxed! Head to toe. I had laser hair removal done on my legs, so no leg waxing for me...but everywhere else yes! Shaving is the worst.

I hope you made it for like today or tomorrow, since you've never had it done, you don't know how your skin will react.

Only thing I'm waxing is my eyebrows.

I've done the brazilian and it's just not something I want to spend the $$ on.

Don't be scared...you will be fine.

    I am!!!

Brazilian, eek. I've had it done twice before and getting it done again this weekend. Then right before my wedding. Good luck!

I missed the part about you never being waxed before! Definitely take two Tylenol about an hour before your appointment, and make sure to exfoliate with a loofah the night before. Brazilians definitely don't feel great...

ETA: Also, you may already know this...but the ideal hair length for a brazilian is 1/4 inch. So depending on your hair length...either start growing now or trim the night before. Any more than 1/4 inch and it hurts a lot more, much less than 1/4 inch they might not be able to wax you.

I will be waxing my eyebrows and doing a brazilian wax. I will shave my legs and underarms... I will do the brazilian like 1-2 weeks in advance.

    Helllllll no.

I don't even shave my legs regularly, sure as hell not going to wax anything just for one day.

ME!! I went last month and bought an at home wax heater and kit from Sally's. I was going and getting my legs waxed every month and it was getting too expensive. I decided to try doing it myself and did pretty good. I have a few more months to practice before the wedding so I should be a pro by then.

I have sensitive skin - I'm allergic to the nickle in razor blades, so I have to wax. I never have any reaction or issue after getting waxed. I would plan to do it no closer than 1-2 days before the wedding/honeymoon.

    I'm definitely getting waxed!!

I've never had it done before either, but I'm leaving on my honeymoon 2 days after our wedding and i don't want to have to worry about shaving or being prickly.

I'm just getting a bikini (never liked the idea of the Brazilian) and of course my eyebrows.

But I get these done on a regular basis, so it's not a splurge or anything.

I agree with Sunshine about the tylenol. I've also heard to take a shot of liquor before hand, my cousin swears by it. But I've always done the tylenol.

Yes, a shot of liquor (or three, or ten) will definitely help!

I mean how bad is the pain, really? We have two daughters and I had both without pain meds so I'd say my pain threshold is pretty high... but then again, I'm a huge baby when I get a paper cut!! lol!

I'll probably get a Brazilian wax and get my eyebrows threaded. FYI, make sure your appointment is 24-48 hours before your wedding date so any redness and sensitivity go away.

I definitely will be. I get a brazilian every month anyway lol it really isn't bad at all. Sugaring is the way to go. I'll probably get my legs sugared before the wedding too. And my eyebrows threaded.

Get waxed, you will love the freedom of no shaving while on vacation.

If you are concerned with the pain you can use a numbing cream.

Numbing cream can be purchase at any drug store

Put on area 1 hour a head of time, you won't feel a thing
