Which is cheaper for RB pillows?

Heather, on April 2, 2011 at 8:21 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

Is it cheaper to: 1) buy the fabric, cotton & things to decorate with or 2) just buy a plain small white pillow & stuff to decorate with? Oh, and I have yet to find any pillows small enough in stores. Does anyone know of any places so I don't have to pay s&h?

Thanks!

I know Michaels has redone their wedding section Ive been there snatching up all the stuff they've clearanced to make room. They had a few pillows and if you liked one you can use a 40% coupon.

I got two ring-bearer pillows for about $8 each at Davids Bridal clearance (online), they have a sales and clearance, so it's worth checking out both.

You also don't need to have a pillow at all, there are a lot of neat options that you can do. For example, I know one WW couple who really likes baseball has the rings carried in a baseball mitt. Another couple doing a beach wedding found a huge shell and bored a hole in it to tie the string through. An idea for an outdoor fall wedding might be a wooden box with your names/initials engraved/burnt onto the lid. A wooden box can be found at dollar stores and just need some paint to seal the wood after the names/initials are added.

I made my ring bearer pillows for $12 for ALL of the materials for 2 pillows (although I could easily have made 4 with 1 yard of burlap, 1 yard of lining, 1 bag of stuffing, 1 roll of each color ribbon). Plus I have ring bearer pillows that no one else has Smiley smile

Most craft stores have them. The bridal salons will carry them too, but they are incredibly overpriced.

Look in the wedding aisle as Target and Walmart as well and you'll find plenty.

But you can get them so cheap on eBay that shipping shouldn't be a big deal.

I think I'm going to just buy fabric & everything & make them. This is the look I'm going for:

So, yeah, it'll be easier to just buy the materials. Besides, I haven't been able to find plain white pillows that aren't too big.
