This thread https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/which-wedding-trends-do-you-love-and-which-are-you-so-over/a72271ab45bce90a.html?page=1 prompted a question... what do you (as a guest, since brides seem to be biased about their receptions
but you are welcome to share what you liked about your reception) want out of a reception? Do you want to sit there and just eat and visit with those around you? Do you want to be entertained? Do you want little games and "table activities" (like facts about the couple)? Do you want to just eat and be done or have a longer celebration with the couple?
My reception is in the church's gym right after the ceremony (with a short break for pictures). Just buffet-style food with cake and a friend announcing the bridal couple as they come in. No alcohol or dancing. I guess I just want to you know what the majority wants out of a reception and if mine is going to be horribly boring!
