Table assignments

Hope, on August 10, 2015 at 1:51 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

I am assigning tables for the reception. I am trying to figure out what to do for people to find their table easily. I am limited with my budget. What is the best way to go about this.

Escort cards are the easiest. You don't need expensive ones.

You will take table top decorations with reception name cards. It's not expensive. Try this.

    A table number. I will have a sign that says table 1: ____, ____, ____ table 2: ____, ____. ____ pretty simple and easy.

Your venue might supply you with escort cards.

Escort cards are the easiest for guests to navigate. If you have a small wedding, seating charts work as well, but if you have a larger wedding, you'll have a crowd as people try to find themselves on a seating chart organized by table numbers.

For escort cards, arrange in alphabetical order "Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith, table 6". These can be printed from home.

Also, to all of the rings, change your rings avatars. We can't get to know you by your name alone. The avatar helps us identify who you are.

A simple seating chart or simple escort cards will work! Either can be very cheap!

Just do simple escort cards and arrange them alphabetically. You can get them very cheap on Vistaprint.

I've seen the table assignments drawn with marker on distressed old windows, or even on a chalkboard. That's an option too if you didn't want to do the escort cards.

    Something like these: http://www.michaels.com/celebrate-it-occasions-place-cards/M10329672.html?dwvar_M10329672_color=Ivory#q=place+cards%2C+place+card+holders%2C+labels+&start=1

Hobby Lobby has essentially the same thing and it goes on 50% off every other week.

For the table number holders, there are a lot out of ideas out there for inexpensive table numbers. Pinterest and google have lots of tutorials.

I didn't want to spend lots of money on mine either, so I'm doing those simple escort cards and then tying wine corks together with twine for mine. Then using cardstock or scrapbook paper and drawing the number on it... basically like these: http://indulgy.com/post/7ZWKEemNO1/corks-as-table-number-holders

There are a ton of templates online that are free or even like Rebecca said, Hobby lobby has great deals for 50% off. Then just stand them alphabetically so its easy to find.

This is what we did and it worked well for our wedding of 100. It cost $25 on sale at Michaels.

I like the idea of alphabetizing them according to the first letter of the primary guests' last name. The other way of arranging the cards is by table number. Many of our couples go that route (as does my family). Alphabetizing seems so much easier (and faster) for the guests.
