Still don't know what to do about the GUEST BOOK!

BunBuns, on March 6, 2013 at 12:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

I don't want to do a traditional one.

Does anyone have any creative ideas?! Nothing too pricy! I liked the puzzle idea but those are expensive and we probably wouldn't even have any space to put it afterwards!

Thumbprint tree or balloons, photobooth guestbook, photobook guestbook, jenga, stones, plate, painting, quilt, puzzle, etc. the list goes on and on

for the puzzle, you could glue it together and then mount it in a frame

I like a perpetual calendar. Something similar to a recipe box with index cards for everyone to add their birthday. You could do one index card per guest and leave room and supplies for them to draw or write you some well wishes!

    No theme,

I kind of like the "offering a wish" versions but there are still so many to pick from!

I'm using my photobooth album as my guest book... the copy of the guests pictures thats mine goes in the book and they sign a lil message next to it. my brother and SIL had a chest of hearts people were supposed to write on and only about 8 people did it. so i figured since everyone would be at the photo booth this was the best way to do it!

Put note cards at the tables, ask them to give you some marriage advice, tips, (whatever else) and drop into a box. When you get home, mount them in a blank journal.

A previous bride included post cards in her welcome bag for people to send to them. I thought that was cute!

I had guests sign ornaments and we put them on our tree the day after our wedding. We were married in December, so it fit.

I am having trouble with this too. My mom's guest book doubled as her Wedding album. So I get a nice scrapbook.

We are doing wishing stones. Each guest writes something or just a name on a stone. We are then putting them in a floor standing vase I can't wait to see it afterwards in our living room.

TIME CAPSULE! That is what FH and I are doing. Basically, it's a box that we painted together (to fit our theme) with our wedding date and last name, and have a little blurb explaining it: We are asking that people write something and put it inside the box, and then we will open the "time capsule" on our 1 year anniversary to read what people wrote. It's not a guest book, it's personalized, and it's different :-)

Ours is a beach wedding and FH is an avid surfer, so my best friend's hubby (who is skilled at woodworking) is building a mock surfboard. She is painting it to look like a real surfboard. They are mounting our invitation into the center, attaching a Sharpie, and hanging it at the reception for people to sign in lieu of a traditional guestbook. I can't wait to see it!

You could do a painting. My uncle is an artist so I'm going to have him paint a picture of either my flowers or a skeleton key (that's what we're attaching to our escort cards) for us and I'll have the guests sign it. That way we can hang it up in our home. I got the idea from Pinterest where a bride painted just a simple heart and had her guests sign that. Smiley smile

Reenski that's an amazing idea!! Wish I was having a December wedding now lol.

I would look at pinterest for inspiration. We're probably going to do a photobook that we'll make at costco. Things I've seen that I love are scrapbooks, quilts and puzzles Smiley smile
