std text - too much?

So on a Save The Date, it usually lists the couple's names, the wedding date to be saved, and the wedding location. In addition to "Save the Date", "Save our Date" or something along those lines. I also want to say something about a "formal invitation to follow", and to list the wedding website...

I also want to say something about a "formal invitation to follow", and to list the wedding website because there is information about our hotel block on it.

Does this seem like too many words/too much text on a STD? The ones I've seen are usually pretty minimal. But I want to include these things on it and it sort of feels like too much? I'm probably overthinking it, but I also don't want to crowd up a pretty STD with too many words.

What have others done? Should I omit "formal invite to follow"? Is it implied?

The back of ours will say "Formal invite to follow. For more information, please visit our wedding website at www.XXX.com". Then the front will have our date & location.

This is a good idea as well. I guess if people do have any questions about invitations coming, they could be answered with a simple "yes". I know the younger people will definitely not question it, just the older people. The concept of Save The Dates will be very new to my grandparents lol

For some reason I don’t like saying “save the date” lol. Ours was our Christmas card on one side the other side was a picture of us from the night we got engaged with “Hope you will be able to join us when we say ‘I do’ 6/22/18. Formal invitation to follow”

No lol it's okay! It helps me to visualize!

I don't think I'll have any issue fitting what I need to on a normal sized STD (what is normal size by the way? Is it 4x6?)

What do you do if the ceremony and reception are in two different cities? We aren't where ordering these are happening soon but I want to know for when we do take care of them.

This is a good question. I'm thinking just the location of the ceremony on the STD? And then when you send out invites you'd give the address to both:

    *Ceremony address*

"Reception to follow at *reception address*"

They are 4.25x6 I believe .. IMO they were the perfect size ... if you were thinking about using minted I 100% say go for it .. they were good quality and they always have a special going !

This was ours that we sent to everyone. It is blank on the back. Reception and ceremony are at the same location. (Crossed our wedding website)

I've seen people put a lot of info, especially if you get the kind with the text box in the middle and you're putting photos around it.

We did a magnet and left off "Formal invitation to follow". Like PPs have said, I feel like it's implied nowadays. Also we sent them six months out so I think that helped alleviate any confusion.

I feel like receiving the save-the-date itself is how they know a formal invite is going to follow. I would drop that part personally

This was ours. Got all the info in along with our wedding website if they wanted more.
    It was also a magnet.

Those are really cool looking. Also our weddings are a week apart (27th) that's the closest I've seen this far 🙂
