I read Erin C's post on how her brother is asking his girlfriend's dad for his blessing. Got me wondering, how many people still do that? Did you tell him to ask /not to ask your dad? If he did ask did you know he was going to beforehand?
My FH asked me dad, he didn't ask me if she should have, but I'm glad he did. I didn't really know about it but I had a hunch because I lived at my parents at the time, and my dad and my FH both *happened * to be going to lunch with 'a buddy' at the same time. He and FH are very close, my dad loves him and does things with him that his dad never did (hunting, etc.) I was a little surprised my dad said yes though since we were only 19 and 20 at the time (20 and 21 now).
