rsvp Declines

Anyone else get a bit relieved when they get a RSVP back that says they “regretfully decline”? Don’t get me wrong, I’m super excited for my wedding and I love my FH, but due to his large family we had to invite way more people than I was wanting. Anyone else feel this way?

ME! It's funny because I'm the type of person that tends to take things to heart... like thinking people will decline because they don't like us lol but I've actually been really excited receiving declines. If we get a certain amount of declines we can use that money on a s'mores bar that I really want! So now I enjoy receiving declines!

I haven't sent mine out yet, but I'm hoping to get a few declines because we are at our ABSOLUTE MAX and I don't want the room to feel overly crowded.

I totally feel you! I love my family and his and would live for them to join us but we have a lot of people on both sides and sometimes there's just a little relief to know there's one less person to worry about!

We have to invite some out of town people we don't have much of a relationship with (mostly me). FH and I would like to keep the number of people to 150-165 but with all the invites it looks like a lot more. Majority of these excess invites are just a gesture since we know they can't come. But the few who may actually decide to make it UGH I'd be soooo happy if they responded no. I think I will be super happy to get any RSVP's back because I know our people and they just won't RSVP.

I have a massive family and I didn't invite a lot of them because my guest list would have been outrageous. We had 190 we invited and 176 that came. I was disappointed with some of them and others we knew ahead of time they wouldn't be able to make it but wanted to extend the invite out of respect. There wasn't anyone that I didn't want there or I wouldn't have invited them. I truly do not understand why invite someone to one of the best days of your life if you genuinely have no desire for them to be there.
