Reception Dress

Amanda, on November 30, 2011 at 3:10 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

How many people went with a reception dress?

I love the Justin Alexander 8465 but I just can't make it my ceremony dress. I am wearing cowgirl boots, I think they will look so fun with this dress but I need something longer and more romantic for the ceremony.

What did you choose?

This dress is fab... I absolutely love it. Not sure how it would look with cowboy boots but it is so beautiful Smiley winking

I had a full dress for the ceremony and a reception dress with cowboy boots. It was perfect for me and I am glad I had the backup dress. See the pictures below. I do love the dress you picked, but I agree with Tamara, I am not sure how the boots would look with this dress. TO me the dress is too long for boots, as your boots would go up under the dress.

That is a beautiful dress! It makes me think if Audrey Hepburn, or someone equally classy and glamorous.

Personally though, I can't justify two multi-hundred(thousand?!) dollar dresses in 1 day. I'll be wearing my ceremony gown until either FH takes it off me, or I fall asleep in it. Smiley smile

I absolutely see what you guys are saying about that boots! I think I could do ankle length boots with the dress and still have some leg! I am also about 5'9 and half so this dress would be a bit shorter on me than the common bride. Smiley smile I will have to show you loves pictures!

I absolutely love you short dress with the cowgirl boots! I think it's gorgeous!

This dress with cow girl boots will look much like Miranda Lamberts dress with a little more bling!

@Jessica L. Both of my dresses i am getting used. I will pay under $900 for both of them. I know that's not cheap BUT I am justifying it somehow!

I think Miss Tattoo has the same dress, but full length, if that helps any?

My dress is tea length and I'm wearing it for both the ceremony and the reception.

I've got two full gowns for my ceremony and reception dress. One is a Maggie Sottero and the other is a Vera Wang. To each his own. I bought the Vera first, then fell in love with the Maggie. So, I decided to use both. If you want cowgirl boots with the dress then that might work. It just depends on how you pull it off at the end of the day.

I thought about it, but then FH brought me back down to the ground. I'm not going to spend $800 on a dress to wear for an hour or so and then another $800 on a reception dress. I can't do it.

I wanted that JA 8465 for the longest time. Then I tried it on and hated it. lol

Judith-I almost purchased it without even trying it on! That's how much I wanted it!

Then I found a dress shop that had a sample size 16 and I was like no way. It's heavier than it looks and the tulle is very rough.

I did try on a dress I loved at DB, but I'm making it my RD dress.

Oh! I am really sad to hear that it is so heavy! I am looking EVERYWHERE to try it on but very few people have it and if they do its in like a size 4. Not happening. Your dress is SO adorable! I love itttt!

Amanda-It's very heavy. I only had the sample on for 5 minutes and kept pulling up on it. There seems to be like 100 layers of just tulle. Def find a place that has it so you can see for yourself.
