Questionsss :/

Mrs.Penn, on August 9, 2013 at 5:36 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

I totally 100% found my gown but I dont know if i should buy if off this online site http://www.plussizebridal.com/faq.asp or go to the botique and order it. I could get it online for $678 plus alterations or at the botique for 999 plus alterations. Im so scared to order it online though. Ive definetly done my research with the store though. This is my dress its a kenneth winston 336. Has anyone ordered off that site or thought about it? Anything will help!!!

In my searching I never came across that site. But you could do a cross check with house of brides(they're supposedly awesome and have a brick and mortar shop in the US), and see what their price would be!

Try typing in a search engine "plus size bridal scam" and see if anyone posted any warnings online. Also find out if that site does returns and if they are located in your country.

I personally wouldn't order a dress online. A friend of mine did what you are thinking about doing. She tried on a dress, loved it but didn't love the price tag. She found it online and ordered it in the size she tried on at the bridal store. When it came in it was totally different. The material was cheaper and the dress was about 6 inches too small. When she tried to call the 1-800 number no one answered it was all automated and no one responded to her email.

I would call first and have a conversation with someone to make sure it's legit if you decide to take the route. Good luck.

Rule of thumb - if there's no brick and mortar address, avoid like the plague.

So they have both an online ordering & at the store ordering services, like DB? If so, why not order it online? I don't see any problems with ordering online to get the discount. DB also offer online specials. You already tried it on, I would order online.

I'd be weary of ordering it online. Do you know what size you need?

Here's what their website says about returns/exchanges:

What happens if when I get my dress it doesnt fit?

Here is where PlusSizeBridal.com stands apart from any other bridal store. If you get your wedding gown (size 16-32) and it does not fit or there is anything you do not like about it, simply call our toll free number (866) PLS-BRID or (866) 757-2743 and get a Return Authorization Number. As long as the dress is in the same "like new" condition you received it in we will be happy to give you a refund on your purchase, or exchange it for size style or color. There will be a $50 freight/restocking fee for all returned or exchanged merchandise. This is our Satisfaction Guarantee to you! Note: All dresses will need alterations for a custom fit. (i.e. hem, side seams, bustle). Please note that the 5 day return policy is for our Plus Size Bridal gowns (sizes 16-32). All missy size bridal gowns are all sales final.

Looks like you would only have 5 days to return it if you don't like the quality of the dress and you'd have to pay $50 for them to restock it (plus I am assuming you'd have to pay to ship the dress back on your own dime). I personally would stick to the store.

Don't do it. You don't need the stress for a couple hundred dollars. It cost end up costing you more if its a scam.

I buy everything online. But, I couldn't buy a wedding dress. If you have the option of a boutique I totally would.

Although I personally would be way too nervous to buy it online, my aunt did buy hers online through the manufacturer and it was shipped from China. It actually came on time and was the exact same dress and she saved a TON of money. So it doesn't always turn out badly. But, like I said, I don't think I would risk it myself.

I have no experience in where or how to buy it, but I can tell you it's a very pretty dress and looks great on you. Smiley smile
