Hey Whit. Really the only difference is the RSVP deadline. We have more people on our guest list than our venue is able to accomodate. So we categorized our list by A and B. So the A list will go out first and if we get declines then we'll start sending out invites to people on the B list. The A list will obviously have an earlier deadline. I have the schedule written out in my planning notebook but can't recall it right now. But basically I will send out the A batch a bit earlier than invitations would normally go out.

I'm not going to pretend to be the wonderful Ladylee Smiley winking But..if you dont mind.. i'd like to share that I plan on sending out 2 seperate batches too. FH and I have 2 lists. The Primary invite list.. and the back up. Our Venue has a min. of 100 guests..so we'll pay for 100 ppl even if there arent 100 ppl in attendance. We have well over 150 invites right now, but just in case theres a huge influx of ppl who can't come.. we have a back up list of ppl we'd kinda like to be there (mostly co-workers/friends, since primary list is nearly all family) so hopefully when the RSVPs come back, if 25 ppl can't come, we can choose 25 ppl from the back up to send out invites too. Makes sense if you have minimums you think you might not meet, or if you have ppl you'd like to attend but may not have the $ to invite. I forget what the exact stats are, but I think its something like 10% for every 100 ppl will not attend? Something like that!

Aimeedarling, I've been told to count on 70-80% attendance. Our venue holds 200 comfortably. We currently have 260 total on our list. At 80% attendance rate that puts us right at 206 people. Our venue does have minimums but we're not worried about meeting them.

FH and I are doing kinda the same thing. Only our venue can prob do 200 ... we are doing it small. So, ours is based on the amount that we want to pay for. We're trying to keep it at 100. My family is HUGE and could easily do 150. But again, keeping it small.

Him choosing the venue that only holds 200 is the only thing that saved us. we started out with well over 300. well actually we're still pretty close to 300 but counting on 80% attendance and mailing in 2 batches just to be safe.
