October/November Brides - Marriage License!

D1, on September 25, 2013 at 5:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 31

We got ours today! FH stayed home from work unexpectedly today so we went and picked ours up around lunch time! We had planned to do it Friday.

We could get it up to 30 days before and no later than 72 hours before. Cost was $72 and is good for anywhere in the state. I was sad to see only our officiant signs it. No witnesses necessary. It is a really pretty certificate though!

When are you getting yours? What are the requirements and fees in your area?

In NJ, there is a three day waiting period, it costs 28 bucks and you need to go with one witness over 18. On the day of the wedding, you don't sign it, but two witnesses do.

I always make my couples a pretty one to sign on the day,

We got ours a month ago. My mom was harping and it's good for 90 days so we are safe on the time frame. It did feel good to get it early though Smiley smile

Applied online and then went down the the courthouse later that week. Stood in line for an hour. The clerk had us raise our right hands and do the "I swear everything on this form is correct and true..." A little old lady nudged my fiance and said "You still have time to run!" It was kinda cute.

@ Julie - you get it in what ever state you are getting married in.

We had to swear everything was true and correct too! Had to say "I do, Sir." even though the clerk was a young lady. The whole process took about 10 minutes.

Hey there. Congrats. We got ours 2 months ago. It was crazy to see our names on paper as married or rather getting married. Lol. Can't wait until the wedding. Had to get ours in our county though. Only officiant can sign I believe

In Wisconsin you have to get it in the county you are getting married in. Ours is $110 and you have to get between 7 and 30 before the wedding. Since its been 20 yrs since my last marriage I dont remember what it looks like! We have this Friday off (14 days before!) And are going to get it!

We got ours today too! $20 for a legal copy and a pretty one. It's good for 1 year and the whole process took about 10 minutes. One more thing I can check off my list!

Haven't gotten ours yet, doing it soon though. I think in NJ we have to wait 30 days before the actual date

We got ours. In Ohio, it has to be from the county you reside in. We had to get ours in Preble County. It was $70 cash and we had to ahow our birth certificates. I had to pay 25 bucks for a copy of mine :/

License is good for 60 days and only needs our officiant to sign it and mail part of it back.

Only took us abt 10 minutes. The probate court was completely deserted lol

We did the prelim. application for Nevada so that once we're in Vegas, that should speed up getting the license in the court house. I think it's $60. I won't know more until we go on 10/24 or 10/25!

We got ours on Monday! $30 and it has to be used in this county. We got a decorative thing for everyone to sign as well. Witnesses aren't required, but there's lines for them so ours are going to sign.
