NWR: So about this Power Ball tho...

SpringBride16, on January 8, 2016 at 3:06 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 57

Sooooo... i dont play the lotto... but we do have a department power ball lottery pool going on. If we win it would be 7.5 mil AFTER tax per person! the guy who organized is buying his own set of tickets later tonight. He said that if he did win, he would double my wedding budget and pay for my wedding Smiley smile how sweet! (best believe i made him sign a positit contract LOL)

If you won the Powerball what would you do with it? I'll go first?

(3 mill) Give some to my church, pay off my student loans, buy a house (CASH), car (CASH), give some to my family, start a business, and invest 4.5 mil.

Ha, I texted FH earlier and asked if he wanted to buy tickets and he said he was just about to ask me the same thing. We don't normally play the lottery, but spending the money on tickets is kinda worth two days of fantasizing what it'd be like to have hundreds of millions of dollars.

We'd quit our jobs and travel a lot, we'd buy a house, he'd buy a lot of vintage cars, we'd give some to our families, invest a good chunk of it, have a really really lavish wedding and honeymoon, and who knows what else.

Quit work, travel, help out parents, buy a house, new cars, vacation home(s) - but first, Financial Planner to ensure it lasts for many generations!

We just talked about this yesterday! We'd pay off our debts, pay off our home, my parents, my brother, his siblings homes. Travel a bit. Invest a big chunk so we could live off the interest. FH wants to buy property and build a tiny house. I have no clue why, but I guess when you win 700mil, why not?!

Lol, we'll probably win because it's too late for it to really impact our wedding budget at this point. I'll be all "hey, I'm a millionaire now...please enjoy the buffet and our middle-of-the-road bar" hahahaha Smiley smile

I have never bought a lotto ticket and was going to after work today! I guess I wouldn't say no to a couple million dollars...

I'd pay off student loans and go on a nice vacay! Then probably put it in savings, bow-ring.

I got a ticket for my birthday yesterday. Hoping it's one hell of a present. Pay off student loans would be #1 and then pay off all my moms debt, she did get me the ticket after all. Then I would love to travel!

    15% to our current church

5% to the church I was raised in

5% to the church he was raised in

Checks to immediate family members with the agreement not to ask for anymore. It would be to our moms and their siblings. The siblings would then divide it up among them and their children how they see fit. With the jackpot being what it is, they would get pretty good sized checks. We hit the lotto; they still need to work.

Set up college funds for our kids. They need to finish school and get jobs. We hit the lotto; they still need to work.

Abandon all social media and let the rest of the money work for us (invest, invest, invest).

I guess you can say I put a little thought into this.

Pay off all debts, pay off our family's debts, pay for our wedding, buy land and build our dream home, donate some to charities, do other frivolous shit (vacation to wherever, maybe new cars?) and then invest. With that amount of money, we'd never ever have to work again and could probably do way more than that but it's nice to think about the future and having money for my kids to go to great schools and put towards their futures and also take care of our aging families.

After I am done shouting all over the place... Give some to my childhood church, my current church, pay student loans, invest, buy my dream home (cash), buy a new car (cash) and of course pay for the wedding in full.

I would make a big fund so that no one hosting a wedding would ever have to have a cash bar again! People can get drunk on my dime forever!

We also have an office pool. Each share would be 27 million after the cash payout. I'd cover all of my guests travel for the wedding and then go back to school to become a kindergarten teacher.

OH if only. First thing I would do is pay off every damn bit of debt that I have. I would give to my family. Then open a gym.

OH yeah, I would def quit my job...and tell Heather to quit both of hers. Obviously, we would have the gym as income once it started rolling.

I could keep adding...vacationsssssssssssssss and buying a beach house or condo would be on the list too.

I would do all the regular things you guys would all do; debt, invest, ...house/car

    I would include:

Hire a chef at least for part time one

travel to all of the places

purchase a small farm, 100 acres and raise Andalusian horses and ride all. day. long. (when I am not traveling of course)
