Just remember you have a lifetime to do all repairs and remodeling you want to the house....don't try to tackle it all at once...get several price quotes for any major repairs or remodeling you intend to do...list all you want to do....the prioritize!!!! other than that enjoy, enjoy,enjoy!!!!!

Thanks Just4me!!! Yeah we are not going to do all of the remodeling at once, and what we are doing, we are tackling ourselves! I still cant believe it!!!

Trust me diy home improvement projects can be fun!!! my mom and dad are handyppl and they taught us kids alot!!!! so we can be prepared when we buy our own homes.!!!! the one piece of advice my dad always gave me is "Don't be afraid to ask for help if ya ever bite more than you can chew."

Keep enough money in a savings account or worst case, credit card to cover what could be your highest dollar, no warning failure point. That is likely whatever you use to provide heat/cooling to your house.

OMG! me and my FH bought our house about a year and a half ago, we didn't have to do any remodeling but we wanted to re-do the kitchen cabnets to change the color, so we started about a month after we moved in...and now they are still not back up mainly because we got them all off and paint stripped and stained, and I didn't like the color when we started putting them back up...lol. But I LOVE owning my first house with my FH. I would say just take it one small job at a time so you don't get over whelmed with the cost and time it takes.
