I just got done running 2.1 miles in 19 minutes!
I'm excited because I'm trying to beat my last year's time in the GSA for Safe Schools annual Walk/Run/Eat. It's a 5K I'm running next month to raise money to support LGBTQ students in Wisconsin secondary schools. Last year I did the 5K (3.1 miles) in 27:28; if I'd kept up today's pace for another mile, I'd have done it in 27:08, and I still have a month to train! (They're actually doing a 10K this year as well, but after hurting my knee twice last year, I decided I'd better not try to up my distance that much.)
Anyone else into running, or doing a 5K in the next few months? It seems to be prime season for it--not too hot or too cold, although it can get pretty windy.
