Need to make sure I'm making my STDs correctly

MrsPadilla2B, on October 6, 2016 at 3:09 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

I finished up designing my STD and I plan on getting it printed at Vistaprint in a postcard. I am using a 4x6 postcard so that I am able to send it internationally (there are size requirements to send them internationally). The front part was easy and fun, but I had a bit of a challenge with the back part because there are so many USPS guidelines on where to place the text and graphics (and I've searched everywhere on Google images). I just want to make sure it passes muster because I would hate to have them mailed back to me. Has anyone gone through this before? Also, I left the address area blank rather than adding lines for the addresses. Is this okay as well?

Here's an example with the border to give it a better idea of what it looks like.

I got my postcards from wedding paper divas and I went with their template suggested for the postcards with lines on the right side.:+)

They look great! I decided to put my STDs in an envelope, even though they are postcards. Another bride on the forum mailed one to herself and the post office printed all over the front of the card and across their faces. I just wanted to be safe. I sent 2 internationally.

The back looks just like our Save the date did.

Fellow Sacramento bride! They look fantastic. The only thing you might want to add is the name of the venue.

@Clebell.. I was worried about that. Glad you mentioned it. I was torn between the postcard and the flat card. There's a significant difference in price to go up in size but putting the postcards in an envelope is a great solution. Thank you!

Take your proof/template to the post office and make sure it is OK and will go at p/c rate in the US.

You're welcome @wifin'. I was grateful to the other bride who posted it. The envelopes were maybe $6. Worth it!

If you go the postcard route there is no return service so you won't know if they have been delivered.

You can email ***@****.*** - I used them for my postcard RSVPs. They will review your template, measurements, and paper thickness and let you know if it fits guidelines.
