My DIY Glitter Shoes

Gamer In Love, on September 27, 2012 at 1:19 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

I've been in search of the perfect purple flats for months, but could never find anything I liked in my size. So I decided to just make them myself. So now, I have purple glitter flats that I love (and was super excited to make!)

Now, to show them off! What do you think?

YAY! Very pretty! Were my instructions pretty easy to follow?

Edit: I love the bows too. Did you add them yourself?

Love your shoes! I had a similar problem...wanted glitter orange flats, and could only find GINORMOUS heels....so made my own! You did a great job, love the bow! =)

Yeah, kris, I found the tutorial (and orginally got the idea) here: http://www.wearenotmartha.com/2010/12/make-your-own-glitter-flats/

Mixing the mod podge with the glitter made it much less messy that one would expect.

And, yeah, I added the bows myself. Just tied a couple out of ribbon and hot glued them down. I had so much fun with this!

    And, Jen, those are adorable!

Good job. I've tried that twice. First time was an epic fail. I think my glitter mix was way too thick.

Just out of curiosity- how many coats of glitter did you have to do?

For those of you interested, there are a ton of videos on youtube with different techniques.
