my bms have forgotten me

Mrs. Roberts, on May 3, 2011 at 11:01 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

Let me preface this by saying I know my bm are not my slaves! The only thing I have asked of them is to buy their dress (which I made sure was flattering on them and not expensive), but I had to keep reminding them to even do that. I will provide them with their jewelry and all meals over the wedding weekend. Even the hotel rooms for two of them. But I feel like they have totally forgotten me. I know they have busy lives like I do, but they are very hard to get a hold of and have made no mention of a bridal shower or a bach party. They know that I will be very busy this month with fh graduation, quiting my job, moving to another state, etc. I have been in two of their weddings and it was costly: plane tickets, hotel rooms, engagement parties, bridal showers, bach parties, expensive dresses, rental cars, and so on. I thought they would return the favor. One of my bm had a shower for another girl whose wedding she is in (who shouldn't be getting mrried, but I will keep my mouth shut on

That is disappointing. Do you have a MOH? I kind of ran into this issue and it was because I didn't designate anyone as my MOH so they were all wondering who was supposed to take charge, no one wanted to step on anyone's toes etc. I know there were actual conversations about this between them. Eventually my close BM friend who I talk to almost daily has become the organizer, but I'm not having a shower, just a Bach party which is fine with me.

I'm sorry Katy, people have said your BM's are just suppose to show up the day of but you pick who you pick because they are your good friends/sisters that you love and you would hope they support you in all the wedding festivities that go along with wedding planning. Usually the BM's want to do the bridal shwr/bach. party. and there are def. ways to pull off inexpensive gatherings. One of my BM's had asked if anyone was working on my bachelorette party back in Jan. and I told her no, so she stepped up. Then my MatronOH threw my bridal shower. If you are really close with them you could mention it very nicely in an email or something. Good Luck girl!

I'm having the same issue girl, I have 8 bm including my moh. The only way to really know that everyone is recieving what I want them to get is by sending it via facebook. If I call them or text they just ignore me. I'm doing everything myself. I haven't had any help from anyone besides my FH. My MOH is going to help me once her semester ends, but the rest of them I feel like could care less. My FH sister and her bf think we should pay for her dress and his tux, even though they basically begged to be in the wedding. Ik I'll be relieved when all the drama is over. If you have a MOH, you two should get together and plan your bach. party and bridal shower. That's what I'm doing as well, because my girls act like they can't be bothered. Good luck to you!

Katy...Maybe they are going to surprise you. Where I come from, the brides never know when the shower is. It is always supposed to be a surprise. Can you ask your mother? I know my mother and my MOH did my shower for my side of the family.
