Middle name to Maiden

Has anyone changed their middle name to their maiden name? I want to keep my last name but also take my fiance's last name. I'm not a fan of hyphenating, so I thought as much as I hate my middle name I could just change it to my last name. Thoughts, comments, words of wisdom? Have you done this?...

I did this in my first marriage. Lived in Texas at the time, no issues at all and no extra fees.

I did. Dropping my maiden name altogether didn't sound good and hyphenating was too much for me.

I live in Illinois and I added my maiden name as a second middle name. Social Security and the DMV had no issues with it.

Most everyone I know does that and that's what I'm doing because it's tradition (at least for everyone I know). I love my middle name but I'm hoping to have a little girl one day to give it to
ETA: I don't really love my last name now but I also wanted to keep it part of my name for my dad, who is my best friend.
