KWR: Who has a GoPro?!

Private User, on October 10, 2014 at 1:22 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 19

FH told me last week he wanted to get a GoPro to take on the honeymoon. Does anyone have one?! Reviews?! Comments?!

We may get one this weekend!

My FH has like 4. He loves them and uses them to film when he is fishing. We also use it to catch our dogs doing bad things or if we are confused as to why something is happening around the house. They are pretty handy to have around. He just got a new one in last night and was setting it up to film while he monitors on his iPhone. It was pretty neat.

I'm planning on getting FH one for Christmas so he can use it for car cruises. A ton of our friends have them and they are great; they have high quality video and sound, and stabilizers so you don't get motion sick watching the recordings.

Catching your dogs in the act? I would totally do this! My dogs do the weirdest things, and I have no idea how they are capable of doing it!

FH thinks the Hero 3 or something like that? With the waterproof case and tripod stand..

I'm not sure which type he has but all of them have a waterproof case and a little pole that he can attach to whatever is on his kayak while fishing (or I hold it and am the cameraperson). We have an awesome video of one of our dogs splashing around in his doggie pool. My FH slowed down the video of the actual splashing and added tropical music. It's hilarious. We're going to be the worst type of parents because we fully intend on using hidden cameras if we ever suspect our future kids of doing bad things.

We have one that we got for the wedding, but shamefully did not bring it on the HM because I was too tired and lazy to figure out how it worked. lol. Still haven't opened it yet...

We have a Muvi. They are half the price of a Go Pro, and have the same specs. We absolutely LOVE it!

Here is a link to what we have:

FH and I are going to go tomorrow while we are running errands to look at them. I hope there is a deal on them that include the pole/tripod thing!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my GoPro! I actually originally got it to use for paddle boarding, diving, etc, but I'm so excited to take it on our honeymoon! The only thing to know, is that you pretty much have to buy everything separate. Mine came with the WiFi remote and the waterproof case, but I separately bought the "floaty backdoor", the pole, the LCD screen and some color filters. But they are so much fun! Definitely worth the purchase! (I'm also dying for the "doggy mount" but I can't imagine I really need to put a GoPro on my Pomeranian)

I literally just purchased one this week for my husband's birthday because he said he would want one in time for the honeymoon (his birthday is ten days before we go away). I can't wait to try it out!

My FH got one after a guy ran a red light and his FH on his motorcycle (he was totally fine, thank goodness!). He records all his rides and he loves it!

I have no idea what is so special about this camera, but now I'm convinced I need one.

@Elyse - my thoughts exactly. I said "you got me a waterproof digital camera 2 years ago, why can't we use that?"
