Just because I want it to be perfect

Mrs. Chumley, on July 16, 2013 at 7:48 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 37

So just for fun, what is your biggest fear about your wedding day? Ex. your alcoholic mom flashes everyone, or the unity candle sets fire to a curtain lol....thats not funny but unlikely, you catch the drift...

If you're already married what were your fears or bloopers?

I'm just nervous I will forget something, have a bad make up job (i didnt get to do a trial b/c i switched MUA and I'm in a diff state) or that I'm not prepared for guests that didnt RSVP show up, oh oh oh and falling while walking down the aisle, or at all in my 4in heels on the wood floor lol

I'm terrified of falling down the staircase I'm to walk down before walking down the aisle. A heavy tulle gown and 4" heels will be a beeotch to maneuver.

    Two things.

    1. There being a huge snowstorm and hearing nothing but "I told you so's" from everyone who said we shouldn't get married in January.

    2. That I won't be able to drink and dance to the music jams as much as I want to because I will be trapped talking to family members I'm not all that fond of.

That no one will dance and the reception will suck... we are writing our own vows so im worried about messing them up even though ill be reading them from a piece of paper.

@ Jen goodluck, make sure you pep talk whomever is walking you down the aisle, they need to catch you should something happen but I hope it doesnt!

@SD53 I will pray for you, so that your guests can not only make it to the venue but not be able to say I told you so.....

I forgot one of my biggest ones, I'm getting married inside in Texas in 10 days its in the 90's and i sweat easily, im going to look hideous after outside pics Smiley sad

Tiffany don't worry about the vows, they will be sweet no matter what but I feel the same way about my reception, I've never been to a fun one and that's our main goal

@Stephanie. That would be my brother. I can imagine him standing at the foot of the stairs over a puddle of tulle and snorting and crying yelling at me "Get up, jackass! Everyone's staring at you! I hope you didn't pee yourself!"

    He would do that.

@stephanie hagahaha! That's definitely a fear! Smiley smile

We're getting married on a cruise ship in port, so I'm terrified of technical / weather issues. If anything happens ill just have my friend (who's a notary) marry us in the terminal. Smiley winking

I had a dream last night that the ceremony music started and I wasn't dressed, didn't have on makeup, anything. I think that's my biggest fear!

I was worried about a lot of things...but the day of I just wanted to to get things done in time to get myself married! I worried about forgeting something big. In the end I'll tell ya what ...having trusting family members taking on some of the prep work really helped in the end. I really don't know what I would have done without them. No real big bloopers happened a few didn't show and a few randoms decided to come anyway...it all turned out beautiful!

I'm worried about my stepdad tripping over train as he's walking me down the aisle. I've seen that happen before and the bride was so embarrassed.

    Two main fears:

    1) FH's parents fighting/making a scene/causing drama. Sadly this is not unlikely.

    2) Horrible weather. There's a plan b... but it's the backup for a reason.
