How low is too low?!!

Amanda, on February 19, 2015 at 2:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 41

So, I went dress shopping a month or so ago. We hit up two shops, went for lunch (where I had a couple of martinis and a shot) and then to our last shop where I found my dress. The dresses at the last shop were 100x better quality then the first 2 shops. I showed the attendant what I was looking for and she brought me a dress that was even more breath taking then the one I clipped online! I tried it on, and instantly loved it!!! I came out in it, everyone adores it. I went to try on another and didn't even want to. Put that first dress back on and knew it was meant for me! Dias yes to it with out hesitating! But, ordered it in a different color and skirt material. At the moment, the cleavage wasn't a concern. I'm thinking the booze had something to do with that :/ Now that I look at it, I'm super worried it's too revealing!!!! And have paid more then half on it. So, there's no going back as it's a $2000 dress! Ugh! Tipsy Amanda has no inhibitions. Sober Amanda, not so much Smiley sad

If you're worried about it, you can ask your seamstress to sew some fabric to cover the girls up a bit more

It looks nice! A little too revealing for me personally, but I usually wear modest clothes (even my wedding dress shows no cleavage at all!). It looks really nice on you though. If it does bother you too much, a good seamstress might be able to add some lace there to cover it up a bit.

My eyes went right to the girls LOL - I would say a little less "boobalicious"

Grrrrrrrl if you got - flaunt it! Your sweater puppies look fabulous in that! (that was gay friend impression)

I think it looks great, the bigger concern would be where you are having your ceremony, it might not be church appropriate.

I don't think it's too much at all. But if you are uncomfortable i'm sure your seamstress can add extra coverage

Thanks sue lol totally read that in my gay friends voice! We aren't getting married in a church. I told fh it is much much lower then it should be and he said he cannot wait to see it on me. That he fell in love with me during a time in my life when I flaunted the girls every chance I could and he doesn't care what his minister uncles and cousins think. (Yes, there will be 4 ministers there. Yikes!) I'm on the fence. But once she's in, I will try it on and bring some lace or something to see if that works

I think it looks nice. As long as it doesn't look like these dresses then you're fine

I heard somewhere (I think I one of the Say Yes to the Dress shows) that the samples are typically made for size B-C cups. When you order the dress in your size, the cups will be more accurate to your body type. so, it may end up fine when you get it in! If not, I'm sure there is something the seamstress can do. Just ask. They will know what your options are. I don't think it looks bad right now.

Your actually dress might fit up top better. I think it is is too much boob but I don't like cleavage. Your seamstress should be able to do something to make it more modest.

You can also have it let out in the waist a bit so that you can hike it up maybe?

Hahaha Vanessa! Those are horrible! Makes mine look a ton more appropriate, thanks! Pancakes, I never thought about that! I hope my dress will fit my chest better. Thanks for that tid bit! I do LOVE the way the little leafs look on the cleavage and adding lace to it would kink of kill that detail I adore. Fingers crossed it ends up being more modest when it comes in!!!

I think it's a bit much for my taste but it's not vulgar. Are you getting married in a church?

No church wedding kemmie. Either outside at a country club or inside the venue if the weather is crappy. I used to wear tons of low shirts about 7 or so years ago. I'm not afraid of showing a bit of chest. Over the last few years though, I've definitely become much more modest with my attire. I'm just hoping my dress isn't as low as this sample in the wrong size is

I think it will be fine! It doesn't help in that photo your head is chopped off so your chest is the next obvious place to look. As previously said when your dress comes in it will likely be a better fit for your chest as it was properly sized. I think you will be just fine and that the dress is lovely!

I tried on a dress in store that had a very deep V. I bought the dress with the thought we would put a little lace in the bottom of it to fill it in a bit but once my actual dress came in the fit was so much better (same size dress even! The sample was just a little stretched) and now the lace really isn't needed!
