Private User, on March 18, 2013 at 5:27 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 17

We're getting married in february 2014 in nyc. we want to go somewhere warm for the honeymoon but can't decide. these are our three choices (so far) in no order of preference: 1) curacao, 2) costa rica, or 3) bueno aires. our only criteria is that is be warm and another country. what do you think? have you been to any of them? any other suggestions? thanks in advance!

I have never been to any of those, I have however been to Belize and it was amazing.

You will have a great time no matter what you pick!

We stayed on Ambergris Caye at Captain Morgan's retreat. We did a lot of really cool day trips, as well as just hanging on the island and snorkeling on the beach.

LOVED Costa Rica. Check out Nayara near Arenal Volcano. The rooms were great and the staff was amazing.

These places are so different it depends on what you're looking for. I have been to Buenos Aires and it is one of my favorite cities in the world. If you're looking for a city vacation, I'd absolutely choose Buenos Aires. You could consider including a trip to Iguazu Falls too.

Of the choices, I would choose Curacao but I would also recommend Turks and Caicos. It was one of our stops on our honeymoon cruise and I really want to go back!

I have not been to Buenos Aires, but I spent a semester in Cordoba...and if FH and I didn't have to get our butts from Pittsburgh to Hawaii before his leave is up I would totally have wanted a Bs. As. honeymoon!

Instead of Bs. As. I went to Montevideo for a weekend. I don't recommend Montevideo, but Punta del Este, Uruguay was pretty luxe. Smiley smile

I know a bride who had a destination wedding in Costa Rica and another who went there for her HM. Both loved it!

    Argentina has great wine.

As mentioned there's a big difference between going to a city vs. to a beach, so it really depends on how you want to spend your time...

    Hi!

Those are all great ideas! Curaçao is a tropical, white sand beach destination and avoids most hurricanes, if you are looking for a less visited beach honeymoon, Curaçao is wonderful. Costa Rica is wonderful if you are looking for an active adventure honeymoon, but the sand on the west coast is coarse and dark in color because it is lava flow. Argentina and Buenos Aires will be a wonderful, cultural big city destination with the energy of city life, but great food and wine, wonderful dancing, music, spectacular hotels. However, they are in the southernn hemisphere so their winter is our summer.

Please let me know if I can help!

My wife and I went to Italy in May 2012 for 21 days and it was fantastic! A few days were cold, but we were in Northern Italy and in S. Switzerland, so it was par for the course... If you want to see a copy of our itinerary, let me know and I'll email it to you. I can be reached at *******@*********************.***. Where ever you choose to go, I hope you have a great time!

What about Grand Cayman? There is a direct flight there from NY. I haven't been to any of the other places, so I can't say which is best!
