I was starting grad school and had just moved back to the area from Alaska. I was already on an online dating site to help me meet people in Alaska, and I decided to keep it. Not more than a couple days after I switched my profile location to Pennsylvania I received a message from a guy in Hawaii. I thought there must have been some mistake, but I figured to give it shot. Later I found out he was stationed there, and that he was from near my hometown. That changed everything, and when we planned our first date for when he was to come home on leave for the holidays. The second night he was home he took me to dinner at a jazz club. Best date ever! I saw him almost every day for the next three weeks. By the time he left to go back to Hawaii we had realized that we were meant to be together. We began planning a wedding, and in May I traveled to visit him. That's when he officially proposed and gave me a ring. Even though we will have only spent about 6 weeks together in person at the time of the wedding, we talk every day. We were both surprised when we fell in love. I don't think either of us expected to find love and get married any time soon...but when you know, you know!
