Help Us Choose a Venue

Bianca, on September 8, 2018 at 4:24 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 5

Hello there Florida Brides! My fiance and I have been looking for a venue that can host both our ceremony and reception. We expect to have a guest count of 60-80. We have gone to about 4 venues so far and have a favorite picked out. We love this place due to its beautiful garden, Mediterranean style building, and intimate feel. While it's not astronomically expensive, it's more than we'd ideally want to spend.

The cost ranges from $18k to $20k (depending on the time of year) and includes:

food ($129/person, based on a 75 person count), cake, use of venue from 10 am- 11 pm, bridal suite, tables, chivari chairs, tableware, linens, 5 hr open bar, valet parking, restroom tailor + attendant, security, cleaning, service charge, and taxes.

So it doesn't include flowers, decorations, photographer, entertainment, etc.

Below is a link to the venue for picutres.

So my question to you is, do you think this venue is worth it? If not, do you have any recommendations for a different venue in the south to central Florida area?

Thanks in advance!

Villa Woodbine

Casa Lantana is a beautiful venue close to Tampa. Very affordable & the owner/coordinator is amazing!

Hi Bianca! Welcome to the WeddingWire community! Smiley ring I went and looked at the venue you linked, it looks so beautiful!! Do you feel that this is the venue for you? If so, I definitely think it's worth the price! It seems like they have a lot included in the price. If you want to keep costs down for the other vendors needed you could DIY your flowers! I found two other venues that are a little bit cheaper than the one you have, I'll link them below for you to look through!

    Weston Hills Country Club

    Villa Toscana

Thank you, girls! They all look like beautiful venues! We’ll check them out. We are so torn because even though we wanted to spend around $20 total but Villa Woodbine does include quite a bit for the amount they’re charging. However, not all items are nessessary for us.

    Again, thank you!

What did you decide, Bianca? Are you getting married at the Villa Woodbine or have you found somewhere better for you?

I have been to a couple of weddings there. It used to be a house/mansion so they space is very choppy in my opinion. The dinner was set up outside on the grass. They had put down a grass type of carpet down so that heels wouldn't sink in the ground, but it happens to be on a slight incline. (It's on a very small hill). We didn't see where the bride and groom were. The dancing was in the outdoor corridor (before the backyard where the tables for dinner were set up) and the bar was set up in the corner, so there wasn't a lot of room to dance or walk around.

I personally think it's on the pricy side. Have you been there to visit it? It's really pretty in pictures but think about what it would be like for the dinner and dancing, etc. We also didn't see the cake cutting or any of the other "events".

Have you looked into The Curtis Mansion? That's more reasonable, has that Spanish feel and would give you more budget for the extras like photography, etc.
