I booked mine in Spetember of this year for my June 2011 wedding. I've never heard of a venue making you wait like that.

We are planning on booking our venue before the end of this year because prices are going to change starting January, I think that's the reason your venue may not let you book now, find out if they can at least lock in your quotes so in case their prices goes up you still have this year's prices. And find out if the prices will change. And I think it has to do with your location as well, I'm in Florida some of the venues are booked 2 years in advance, depending on the part of fl as well

I booked mine in April (wedding July 2011) ... It was a KILLER DEAL, for the hall rental COST of alcohol included (open bar) and stuffed steak and stuffed chicken for dinner it was 26.00 a PER PERSON and with 340 guests i jumped on it like no tomorrow.

...and to think it was the 5th venue i looked at and i almost didnt go!

Yes we have our venue booked. I wish I had jumped on it sooner - the weekend we are getting married was not my first choice but the entire wedding season was pretty much booked for next year at this place. And I'm not getting married for another year.

Some companies will at least hold the date for you, I would ask them if they can at least hold the date until then so you can have some piece of mind, and if they can make sure they give it to you in writing. I'm in south FL too, our venue is just waiting on us to book, they have no problem at all. And all the other 30 some venues we contacted did not have a problem with that, I'm surprised with that

I booked mine in Aug. 2010 for our Nov. 2011 wedding adn they were very happy to allow us to book that early. I would definetly ask if you can have the prices they are offering locked in. If they are refusing to work with you on that, then they obviously don't care enough about your business and I would look somewhere else.

My wedding is in June of 2012 and we booked in September of this year (2010). We wanted a saturday in June which is so popular and this place is all inclusive and one of the most inexpensive places around here so we also jumped on it.

I booked mine in August 2010 for the October wedding. Basically, I asked the owner of the Bed and Breakfast, which weekend would be best for her, in terms of crowd, and which would have good fall colors. She said October 1st because the following weekend was Columbus Day, and appparently Vermont is popular for the fall colors on that weekend. We have all rooms booked.

Got engaged in June and booked venue end of July. Wedding is next October. Got a really great deal and tons of extras. Booked all the big vendors by end of August and got tons of savings. October is the most expensive time to get married here so we would not have benefitted at all by waiting.

Is your mind really set on this venue? if not start looking around for other places, and if you really like them you can probably use it against them and tell them i found another venue that's gonna let me book early at even a better price, if your mind is not set on them I will definetely look elsewhere, there are plenty of venues that would be happy to take your business.
