Has anyone done their own chair bows?

APD, on February 6, 2017 at 10:27 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

So, I really really want to do chair bows. Our venue includes the chiavari chairs and I'm kind of obsessed with the look of the lace sashes with them. Has anyone bought a roll of fabric and cut and tied them yourself? If so, how long did you cut each length of fabric to be? The picture is a picture from the venue of another couple that did this with the chairs.

Also, I am aware that this is completely unnecessary. I am hoping to do this for around $150 for the fabric and having the DOCs and myself tie all of the sashes when we are decorating the day before the wedding.

I know you didn't ask for opinions but I'm not a fan. I think they take away more than they add.

Opinions are always welcome! Because nobody else is going to tell me not to do it. Lol.

^^I agree girl! They don't need them. The chairs look fine without them. Save yourself the headache.

I don't love them and they will take you four times the amount of hours you think.

    Leave the chairs alone.

I think they look fine, but I also think the chairs look nice as is. Because I'm sure you already have a ton to do i would save the time and money and skip them Smiley smile

I will tell you we got to set up the day before and it took 3 hours longer than I thought it would. I had to shower at a family friend's house nearby because I didn't have time to run to my parents before the rehearsal dinner

Hey! I think it is a gorgeous idea, if completed with your type of uniqueness! I am also going to be doing these myself and am going to complete about 120-150 these next months :-) I am purchasing tons of tule from a nearby wholesale fabric store and creating a simple wrap around the back of the chair, being brought together by small bouquet (not like the one pictured). Nothing that will "flap" (i suppose, is the word) at the back. This is such an easy, affordable, and awesome idea to add your little pizzazz to your wedding! Good luck!

I'm definitely on team don't bother - it makes the chairs look a little messy and fussy. But that's just my opinion Smiley smile

If you're deadset on chair bows, wrapwithus.com has them for $.99.

Won't bows like that slide down? As a guest I tend to get annoyed with chair covers and bows, they seem to slip around too much. Chiavari chairs are pretty as-is.

Hi! Our venue has white chair covers, we want to add color. It is cheaper for us to buy chair sashes on cvlinens website than to rent them from the venue.
