Guestbook Ideas - DIY (yay my first one) *pics*

Mrs. B for real :), on July 25, 2012 at 12:55 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 22

Ok so here is my inspiration pic and what I just did on my own...I have to send it to FedEx or Staples to print to canvas, and purchase the frame. I'll probably add a little "bling" to the canvas once its printed, but I didn't want a traditional guestbook.

All the Etsy stuff is super cute, but usually geared more towards rustic weddings and thumb print tree etc...and I didn't want to spend $85 on my inspiration pic Smiley smile

What do you think? Should I change anything?

Looking at it here, maybe I make the damask designs a bit bigger? They looked huge when i was creating it...

The inspiration pic also looks like the Damask is layered onto the background. Your image looks good though.

So people just sign it right on the canvas?? That's awesome! How much does it cost to get it printed on canvas?? Sooooo looking into this Mrs. B to be. I felt the same way and just didn't know what to do about the gues book. But this is cool.

    Thanks ladies

@Julie, yep! They sign the picture instead of a book. Some people also do this with a photo of them, but I like this better, IMO a little more elegant. I think its like $20-$30 depending on the size you want, plus there are always groupon deals for canvas prints so I'm going to do some googling on that and retailmenot to see if I can find any deals Smiley smile

I saw something I thought was really awesome and unique and I'm going to use this at my wedding next month.

You use ink or paint to make a thumbprint and then use a pen to sign your name next to it.

@Cathrin- I just went to a wedding a couple weeks ago that had the tree and everyone did their thumb prints. Such a cute idea! We have a photo booth and a copy of the pictures that are taken go into a book for us and then the people in the photo can sign or write a message next to their picture. We are also having a frame that everyone signs the surrounding area.

I like your idea for the guest book! We were going to do the photo but since ours is a fall/outdoor theme we are cutting some huge trees down (we wanted them down before this!) and having one or two pieces out for everyone to sign on the tree. Once the wedding is done we are going to clear coat them and make them into tables in our house.

I love it!! It's very elegant, yet simple enough to keep framed and hang in your home for a long time! I love it, congrats!

I love this type of guestbook and I'm using it too. I am also using the mongram to be in the middle. But I am also thinking about having cards there for people to write well wishes and advise, etc. I thought the frame was great to get everyone's signature, and the cards for people to write more that just signing. I'm going back and forth trying to decide.

Looks really nice! I am going to make a book with our engagement photos and then have people sign that.
