Dedicated September 2012

Gotta love it when a vendor jumps ship.

I had a photographer that was obviously too good to be true. I went to meet with her to give her a deposit and she never even showed up. I am so glad she didn't now because that deposit would have been clearly lost. Photography is pretty important but it's not in the budget to spend so much on it. The photographer we had was doing it for 600 and that was perfect for us. How did you guys find your photographer and how much are you spending? I want to put my own pictures into an album and I can do my own prints.

    Aubrey,

I'm sorry this happened to you, but I am also very glad she didn't show.

    hopefully you find another.
I looked at different blogs like DIYbride and 100layer cake and compared photographer styles.
Then i emailed the ones I was interested in to give their history, share a wedding or two that they shot from beginning to end.
    edited, not edited..
    I'm kind of anal lol

Wow, good thing she didnt show, you definitely dont want a flakey photographer.

I found ours through wedding wire. Fell in love with his photography right away. We are paying $2,400. But thats for 8hour coverage, images on a flash drive, and a custom 9x12 30page wedding album.

That really stinks! Good thing she didn't show up for that and you are going with someone else rather than her not showing up for the wedding!

I was looking for weddings that had been at my venue (it's a county park lodge) and came across her on facebook. She had great reviews, and lovely pictures.

She was a little flaky, but I got sneak peeks at my e-pics last night and they were great! I'm booking her for the wedding, and it's only a $50 deposit. And she charges $500 for 10 hours and unlimited locations for the wedding. This is also for the disc and copyright release.

    E-pics were only $120.

Wow! Good thing you didn't end up with a flaky photographer at least. We haven't booked our photographer yet but I'm noticing our venue's recommended vendors are EXPENSIVE!
