Good shoe for old bride with bad feet??? LOL

Julie B, on August 28, 2011 at 10:06 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24

Need something stylish I can wear all day and not feel matronly. Needs to be dyeable. Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch.

I'd go with some sort of flat, or a slight wedge. And putting an insole in it will of course be a must!

Why dyable? I'd find some cute ballet flats in the color you want- because dyable shoes will bleed all over your feet!

OK- so I know it's kinda random, and not dyable- but you can usually find a variety of colors.... Did you know crocs sold high heels? I get them for work because it's a pretty cute heel I can wear all day and my feet not hurt at all. Nothing at all like the ugly clog things. It may be worth checking out.

Thanks for the replies, fellow brides. :-) Meghan, gotta be dyeable because my dress is mocha colored--making it myself. Gotta have a heel. look at my pic over to the left. My groom is 8 feet tall. Formal wedding with what I hope will be a very glamorous dress. I really want a fairytale/old hollywood kind of feel. Here is the shoe I'm looking at, and a pic of the dress.

This one looks pretty comfy, as it has a cushioned interior platform

Sorry girls, didn't think my link would be bad. Thought it would go right to the shoe and not the main page. Doesn't matter. Can't find it in my size anyway. So I'm on the hunt again. Woo Hoo. Here is a pic of me in the actual gown I tried on many moons ago that I'm trying to recreate in my secret lab, as I dont' have 1200 to shell out on gown, alterations, tax, storage, steaming, bustling etc...barf. Hope my end product will be something like this.

I still say no dyeables! Try to match the color or go with another color in your wedding scheme. (My shoes are dark purple)

Wedges are the key to comfort and heels. At the very least, a chunky heel is more comfortable.

    Aerosoles=comfort. http://www.famousfootwear.com/Shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?p=08389&pg=5121103

I can relate to needing shoes that are comfortable! Just a quick search brought up these. (They are not dyeable, but the colors might be a close match to your dress - which is gorgeous!!)

    1. Touch-ups "Viviana" approx $59.00

    2. Badgley Mischka "Lyndee" approx $193.50

If you are willing to shell out the money, Jimmy Choo are amazingly comfortable AND stlylish. I am an avid shoe collector and can promise you that you will be soooo happy to spend a day in a pair of Jimmy's they are uber comfy.

Thanks for the compliments and suggestions. That touch ups wedge is rather lovely. CW--Jimmy Choo may be out of my price range--by the time I get them, I'll probably have about $2.99 for shoes. Goodwill is sounding better all the time. Something old, right? Eww.

Got that covered with Grandma's diamond necklace. (The lace on the top of the dress is also a family heirloom-cut from a table cloth that is no longer fit to grace a table, sadly.)

I think i can do better than used shoes. LOL. I live in a small city- One bridal shop..that I went to today because they sell Touch Ups...closed over lunch?!?!?!? Is this Mayberry??? Grrr.

I think it's great you're making your own dress! I bet you can get shoes that will look good with it. It doesn't have to be an exact match - plus, your feet are probably going to be covered up most of the time anyway.

Here's my attempt to give you some ideas:

    1. Nine West Terrian Sandals. $33.37 Get them here: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=566989&CategoryID=55761&LinkType=#fn=sp%3D2%26spc%3D72

I love these because most Nine West shoes are super comfortable. I have these, and they're no exception. They're 4 inches but don't feel like that at all! They're super soft, and they have great padding.

    2. Unlisted. $25.72. Also a great comfort brand. Really cute, but not insanely uncomfortable. 4 inch heel again so they'll give you the height you're looking for.

    3. Coloriffs Victoria. $81.95 This fits what you're looking for. 3 1/2 inch heels. Dyeable. The wedge will give you more support - more comfort. Also comes in Ivory that may also go with your dress.

This place is great. I love it!! Since most of my friends have been married forever (like I was-to the wrong guy :-( ) they are sick to death of hearing nothing from me but wedding, wedding wedding. LOL

You gals are great!! Thanks for all of your helpful suggestions and especially to those of you who took the time to post pics and details for me. That is really appreciated.

Since you are looking for a budget shoe, I know that Payless Shoesource now carries a dyeable line. They had all sorts of styles from flats to wedges to heels. Not sure how comfy, but cheap!
