I think DB is having a sale right now, maybe look for a dress there? they definitely have some less expensive stuff. invites, I have heard good things about Etsy, and there's always Vista Print, which has some good stuff, there are always Groupons, etc. we picked DB ones, they have some that are 60 invites for under $100. I'm not super excited about DB, but they do have reasonable prices and we're getting married far from where we live so it was the simplest for a lot of things.

You can find out how much it costs to get a food truck to supply food. Try to byob. Vistaprint invitations have been pretty cheap imo and includes letters and seals if you want.

You can get cheap vases and other decorations at the Dollar Tree. I second Vista Print. Good luck... Maybe you could find a discount bridal store in your town.

Hm... does a family member or close friend have a fabulous yard you could use? If you can get married and have the reception there on the lawn, and you're from a state where the weather is actually ok to do this in September, you can cut a lot of the cost right there. You can also do something like a cake and champagne (or whatever drink you prefer) reception. I think that's what I would do, if I were on a super-tight budget.

Also, you can look at DB for dresses, but you can also look around at prom and pageant gowns--much of the time, because the word "bridal" is not attached to them, you can find those for much less money, AND many styles come in white. You can find anything from a slinky sheath or a mermaid cut to a fancy ballgown, and you'd be surprised at some of the prices!

Oh, I don't think BYOB would be so classy for a wedding--no offense to anyone, of course! If you can't afford booze, just provide non-alcoholic beverages. For music, use an ipod with a speaker hookup. Just be sure to triple-check the wedding playlist, to make sure that every single song belongs on there! Smiley winking

One last thing: The fastest way to cut the cost is to cut the guest list. It's sooo hard, but it's so worth it! Be sure you're inviting ONLY people who you actually want there! If they would bitch about not liking your wedding (like, if you decide to not have alcohol), you don't want them there. Smiley winking

Cut the guest list, have a private ceremony at your courthouse or with an officiant, have a nice little lunch afterwords. Look for consignment gowns and enjoy a sweet celebration with the people you really, really love.

Went to a local music store not a chain store they were very helpful in finding a D.J. even though they didn't have that service. We paid 1/2 price for the D.J. could have been cheaper. Found a band, and minister willing to work for food and good references at the same place. They have customers they are willing to pass the info on good for you and the small business. Make sure you meet with everyone you hire even if it is free, if they have a show go check it out. They all came with references. Our venue didn't charge for wedding ceremony if 10 people or less but you have to ask. Not advertised. Don't be afraid to ask. Borrowed centerpieces, bought extras from orientaltrading.com go to retailmenot.com for online coupons. Got real flowers cheaper then fake where I am. Got dress at DB not cheap. My friend got hers at a prom shop had alterations to make it look a little fancier everything $250.00. Invitations craft store DIY kit everything needed for $45.00 need a decent printer

Look at David's Bridal for a dress...or Target, second hand store, etc. You'd be surprised at the selection of $100 dresses there are out there. For invites, I would probably be getting those quick. They'll be going out soon. You could do your own, do the print your own or do the VP thing as mentioned above. If you need food, if you can do it yourself (the family), that would save a ton.

We got our invitations at a local craft store for a dollar a pack for 8. Also our cups and plates. Look around different places you can find good deals.

Personally, I love the idea of a potluck! At my wedding, we are doing a potluck/BBQ and I'm having the guests bring the recipe of the dish they bring so that my FH and I have a little recipe book to start out with! I highly recommend looking at consignment shops for dresses...they are far cheaper than if you bought a brand new dress, and half of them were never worn and still have the tags on them!

I used vistaprint for alot of my invites thank you cards etc. Alot of ladies know ways to get those alot cheaper, the cake I had made for 100, my dress from DB through the sale, photographer was 200 from craigslist but make sure you check their work beforehand, my shoes from the mall, and my DB bra corset from the thrift store for 3 bucks. Check everywhere for little things youl need. Hobby Lobby has wedding sales if you like DIYing everything.

I bought my invitations at Hobby Lobby (blank) I got 200 for 54.00. My FSIL printed them at her work so that made it really cheap! But the part that cost me quite a bit was stamps. Be sure to budget that in as well. Good Luck Smiley smile

For a venue, check out historic buildings in nearby towns. One place I looked at near my hometown was a dance recital place during the week but it was big and open and I could bring in my own caterer (for as little food/drink and for as cheap as necessary). Of course, I am having a winter wedding so outdoor options were completely off the table for me.

Invitations: Walmart actually sells some cute diy invitations that you can print out on your own computer. They have a matching sets with invitations, response cards, frames, cake toppers, etc.

If you aren't super picky about what the bridal party wears you can just make certain requests (long in navy blue, for example) and let them find their own dresses wherever they want.

Have you considered maybe a reception at a restaurant? some restaurants have private rooms, depending on thje number of you guests. For a dress try oncewed, DB, as said earlier consignment shops. Amazon has some pretty wedding dresses for under 300 dollars from George Bride. consider wearing a white evening gown or prom dress as a wedding dress to save on cash. Try beer wine instead of full liquor. Try outdoor wedding in park, do you have a church, perhaps your home church will marry you for free you might have to make a small donation. Try to have family who can cook really well cater and have a backyard/ pinic type wedding those are so cute. Use in season flowers from sams club and mason jars as centerpiece.

Please please please dont make your guest bring a dish to pass, that is just tacky sorry!

If your strapped for cash, then I would suggest just inviting family and friends and keeping it under 20 people. Have a little back yard bbq get married and enjoy the day.

It doesn't need to be fancy or expensive but do not have your guest bring food!
