Flowers...i find them to be too darn expensive!

❤Mrs.Dashiell❤, on September 7, 2012 at 2:35 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 41

Does anyone else feel this way? I was given a quote of $895.00 for the whole wedding party..i mean for flowers? Maybe i'm missing something but i rather pay that towards my venue!..lol...is there any "cheaper" ideas to get flowers for a wedding party of 8 BM's and 8 GM's?

Also search wholesellers in your area who sell to the public! That's what I'm doing and I'm paying $300 for bouquets and all 12 centerpieces

Anytime anyone does it for you they charge an arm and a leg, I was told sams, bridesign.com is affiliated with proflowers, who does huge amounts of deliveries, they do them in bulk and already done, how much are you looking for? what kind of flowers? There are a lot of things that come into play.

through bridesign heres what you get in roses for 900$

Mine are not online I found that a wholeseller in my area was even less than sams club or any other "wholesale/bulk" flowers I found online!

I had 13 on my side and he had 10. The flowers we were going to get came up to about 900.00 but that included flowers for the 2 mothers the hostess the 2 fathers my grandfather and my bouquet, but do to an increase in the food budget I was only able to get me and my hubby flowers. i went on afloral and orderd the guys flowers, 5 corsages for under 60.00. One of bm is holding her bouquet. My decorator took a scruchie and glued roses to it. She is holdong it and in the other picture only the groom's flower is real.

That's actually not that bad, when you consider that you have a whopping 18 people to provide flowers for, nine of them bouquets. But if it's not within your budget, try shopping around for cheaper options, or maybe DIY them with bulk flowers (or even grocery-store flowers, or silk flowers, or paper ones, etc.).

No one said you need to do mini bouquets for the ladies.

Why not just do single flowers????? to save money.

Single flowers and you have a simple bouquet. Me, I'm carrying a lightsaber down the aisle. My girls will too. Smiley smile I think the entire party will.

I would love to have my favorite flower calla lilies in the wedding.... but they're pricey. Smiley sad

Do you have a Whole Foods Market near you Tabitha? If so, they charge you only for the cost of the flowers (supermarket price). You bring them the containers and show them what you want. They will do all the arranging for you...you just have to pick them up the day of or day before your wedding and get them to the venue. That's going to save me hundreds of dollars and I don't have to worry about the arranging. A neighbor is going to do the pick up and delivery for me on the day of.

Most grocery stores have their own floral departments that will do weddings. See if you can find some reviews in your area about which do a nice job. I've heard good things about Thriftway, Metropolitan Market and Whole Foods in our area. They're much cheaper and you won't have to worry about the stress of making your own arrangements a day or 2 before the wedding.

How expensive or not that is depends on what was included. What flower and how many were supposed be in all the WP arrangements?
