Oh boy where do I start. FH bought my ring set on ebay from a store, no used. I had no issue with that other than when things go wrong you have no where to take it. Well my stone came loose after 1 month. He contacted the seller and they shipped a new one. They said they were going to send a return shipping label. They didn't. Yesterday we noticed my replacement is 10K and the first ring was 14K. Also the diamonds on the band have separated. So pretty much he got screwed. The seller is no longer on e-bay but he was able to contact them and they pretty much said sucsk for you. Because it has been almost 6 months I don't think ebay will refund him and he paid via paypal so they wont dispute either. Also after inspection the original diamond was chipped which leads up to think its fake. FH tried to fix it an broke off one of the prongs. I love my ring, if it was CZ I really don't mind but I am afraid this will fall apart eventually. Oh man what should be do?!

We buy and sell on ebay weekly.. FH said you can definitly disput it because of the circumstances even though your time frame is 6 months. It may or may not get you anywhere though, all depends on if ebay is willing to work with you. We had a part come in and advertised as something it wasnt and months later it broke, paypal got our money back and the shop was taken off shortly after. My guess many disputes!

@FutureMrsNoel Because the item is no longer listed it wont come up for up to open a case on, on ebay.

When I first got my ring I smacked it pretty hard on a door jam. That is when it came loose and chipped the corner of the stone I assume. I would have been fine with the ring being fake but FH tried to swap the stones(cause he is a man who thinks he can do anything) and broke a prong on the one that was 14K like the picture above. I have no issue with the diamonds. They looked real and sparkle enough for me. My Issue now is the metal is already dull and you can clearly tell the difference in the side by side. The 14K looks brighter. There is also defects in the second ring(the one I am wearing) which makes me want to wear the other one. I am guessing a jeweler could potentially fix the prong and swap stones out? Its on my list of things to do before the wedding.

My FH buys EVERYTHING online and figured he could get a better deal. I don't blame him for that but I am a little peeved because I know things like this happen.

At least take it to a jeweler so you know what the ring is made of.

At this point you just need to go to a jeweler with both rings. Prongs on even the most expensive rings can break. I have one on mine that I have to take in to get filed because it gets caught on terry-cloth towels and I am worried I will rip that sucker off. Like another poster said, some companies do laser and fill diamonds with bad inclusions so you don't see unsightly black spots in your ring. This can cause weakness and breakage. I have a ring that has a 14K setting with a marquis stone in the center and two baguettes on the side. The baguettes are real diamonds, but the rather large marquis center stone is CZ. I bought it as scrap because the center stone is broken so it is not unheard of for there to be gold rings with fake diamonds. If you notice that your ring is dulling however, that might be a sign that it is plated. Unfortunately, I have bought scrap that was clearly marked 14K and it is nothing but a gold tone vermeil over stainless. Most of this kind of thing comes from China as fake jewelry and they end up selling it online or at shady swap-meats and flea markets. When I sell jewelry on Ebay, I always have the appraisal certificate with it, and as a seller I would never buy anything without that certificate.
