Desperate need of HELP with BRIDESMAIDS!

Stephanie, on March 16, 2016 at 10:44 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 26

So I have 4 bridesmaids, my sister, sister in law and 2 of my BFFs. However, my BFFs are the problem. They have NEVER met each other but already hate each other as well! I don't know what to do since they are going to be part of my bridal party. I have a bridesmaid dress shopping appointment this Saturday and it'll be the first time they meet. I'm worried that they won't cooperate with each other. Can I get some advice on how I should handle this?? Should I need to "kick" someone out of the bridal party to make it work??

EDIT:

The reason on why the hate each other is more of a jealousy thing, like who is a better friend to me. They both have the same name and say how they are the better one. It's ridiculous, I know. But I really want them to be part of my special day!

Why do they hate each other if they've never met?

Sounds to me like they all need to grow up.

    Don't kick anyone out.

Why don't they like each other if they've never met? Like what's the actual problem?

Why do they already hate each other if they haven't met each other yet? To me sounds like they are already competing on who really is your best friend. Your probably going to have to tell them to grow up and deal with it as they are both equally important to you.

Do not kick anyone out of your wedding. Why do they hate each other? If necessary take them each aside and explain that they are your friend and if they truly care for you and want to be there for you they will act like an adult and be cooperative for the appointment. Your bridesmaids don't have to like each other they just have to show up wearing a dress you approved on your wedding day.

How can you hate someone you've never met? They just need to meet.

Do not kick anyone out. That is ridiculous.

They can hate each other. As long as they act cordial, it will be fine. They don't have to see each other everyday. They can handle the few times that they do. They're adults.

Oh no Smiley sad is it a jealousy thing? I would maybe tell them how much you want them both in your wedding and that it would mean a lot to you if they could put aside their differences for your special day. I'm sorry that's happening to you, that's awful.

Do not kick anyone out that will cause an even bigger issue! I know my MOH and her other best friend and I do not get along because she just always feels the need to try and say how she is the better friend and talk trash. I do not hate her but I just do not care for her at all. They really need to put their feelings aside for your wedding and understand that you can have TWO best friends without them trying to hate each other for it.

Also if they start to act like children and fight you need to put your foot down because adults should not be acting like that at all and just be civil with each other for your day!

Do not kick anyone out. If you haven't even seen them interact with each other yet you don't have any idea how they'll actually behave. A lot of people will say they don't like someone and then just ignore them or be polite when in public, it may not be an issue.

If it is an issue for them you don't need to deal with it. They're adults and they can handle their own differences.

I would expect them to be adults and cordial. They don't have to be best friends but they can at least be mature enough to put aside whatever issues they may have for you. Although how can they hate each other without having met before?

I second Princess' question. It sounds like they're incredibly immature and I echo the other question that's been asked. How the hell can you hate someone you've never met?

Don't kick anyone out of your bridal party.

They should be able to be mature adults and suck up whatever their issues are for your wedding. If one or both can't... Then they both suck at being the best "insert name here."

Sorry, I'm feeling kind of snarky today.

That's ridiculous how can you hate someone when you have never met them. I say they need to get over themselves. tell them how you feel and that they are both equally important to you. there is no need to rank friends and they should both just be happy for you. if they are really your good friend they will understand this is about you and not who is more a friend to you.

Oh good lord, how old are they? They sound like hormonal middle schoolers. You can tell them I said so. Be honest, flat out tell them neither one is being a good friend to you by behaving like this.

They both sound incredibly immature. These are adults, right? Regardless, you may not even have a problem right now because you don't know how they'll act. I think what you need to do is wait to see how Saturday goes. They might very well be cordial to each other. If they can't play nice, that's when you have a problem. At that point, you'll need to sit them down and explain that you want them BOTH to be in your wedding party and it would mean a lot to you if they could just try to get along instead of causing drama.

Tell them to grow the F up. The only person you're allowed to hate without meeting is Donald Trump.

Are they 12? This seriously sounds like an issue I had when I was 12...
