What season would you guys consider gray to be an appropriate secondary color for?

Any! i dont think seasons matter for colors bc somewhere there is always that color in nature!! but if i must, i would say winter? just bc gray is a dull silver, and silver reminds me of bells at christmas and glistening snowflakes!

ps.. kudos to planning early early early!!

Grey could work for any season depending on your wedding style.

I love grey tuxes for outdoor spring, summer events....

Grey would look good for a formal event. I am obsessed with Gunmetal, pewter, and silver... (My FH said no, and since we are going for a more casual affair I conceeded)

Thank you! I have to plan early because there are so many options and I am a horrible decision maker. This way, by the time 2013 comes and I have to set my decisions in stone I will have explored all of my options.

My wedding is going to be a spring one. I know my primary color is pink and initially my secondary color was going to be brown but now I am thinking that I like the gray better. It is much softer for spring.

The groomsmen are wearing black tuxes so I am not sure how much a secondary color will come into play yet but like I said, I'm exploring my options Smiley smile

I love gray for spring and summer BUT with the right color palette you could get it to work for any season...

Our wedding is in april, our colors are yellow, grey and champagne. The guys are wearing grey tuxes (suit-style) and they look fabulous.

Have you tried making an inspiration board yet? You can make a bunch of them and save them to your account, check out the sticky at the top of the forums page and there are instructions in there. That might help you visualize a bunch of things all together.

Pink and gray would be great together for spring. Very soft. And the black tuxes could have gray vests and ties - that would look great together.

I am getting married June 10th of this year and my colors are Lavender/Lilac and Mercury gray. The men will be wearing gray tuxes. The colors look really nice together.

Gray is considered a neutral color. So it'll go with anything nicely and without being as harsh as black and white.

Gray works with any color. I would make it the primary color and a seasonal color as the secondary color. Since you're getting married in May, pink yellow green or blue in any shade will look good.

Since gray is my secondary and pink is my main color, my bridesmaids are wearing pink dresses with a gray sash and my MOH is wearing a gray dress with a pink sash. I planned on having the guys wear black tuxes with pink vests but since I have a secondary color should I have the best man wear a gray vest and the groomsmen wear pink just like the girls?

Thank you Lauren! I will definitely look that up! Smiley smile
